<p>Yami Gautam, who has been part of films like 'Sanam Re' and 'Kaabil', among others, will next be seen in 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' that co-stars Vicky Kaushal who plays the role of an army officer. Vicky's character in the film is at the forefront of the real-life surgical strike of 2016, in retaliation to the cowardice attacks by Pakistan on unarmed Indian military personnel in Uri, Kashmir.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Yami plays an intelligence officer and the actress prepped hard to get into the skin of a character, something she’s never done before. With the zeal to star in a real-life Indian army story, Yami even went through a look transformation to give to look the part on screen chopping her tresses for a more cleaner, serious look.</p>

<p>She said ''I was extremely excited when the character needed this specific look for the film. When Aditya discussed it with me, I jumped at the opportunity of making my character more believable. So we did a few trials and then went ahead with it. I am loving my look, hope audiences love it too,"&nbsp;</p>

<p>Yami also shared a video from the salon when she says 'goodbye' to her long hair.</p>

Vicky's character in the film is at the forefront of the real-life surgical strike of 2016, in retaliation to the cowardice attacks by Pakistan on unarmed Indian military personnel in Uri, Kashmir. Yami plays an intelligence officer and the actress prepped hard to get into the skin of a character, something she’s never done before. With the zeal to star in a real-life Indian army story, Yami even went through a look transformation to give to look the part on screen chopping her tresses for a more cleaner, serious look. She said ''I was extremely excited when the character needed this specific look for the film. When Aditya discussed it with me, I jumped at the opportunity of making my character more believable.
