<p>Aiming to improve video-watching experience, Google has introduced a new app - Uptime - which lets users watch videos with friends and family.</p>

<p>Initially released for iOS, the app is <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/uptime-watch-videos-together/id1165602747?ls=1&amp;mt=8">available to download for free</a>. Currently, Uptime is an invite-only app.</p>

<p>Users can make comments or react with emoji while viewing a video on Uptime, and those reactions will be displayed to other users watching the video.</p>

<p>The app, currently doesn&rsquo;t let users record video or stream live. It only lets users share YouTube videos. It is believed that the the app is more compatible with videos shot in portrait.</p>

<p>Uptime is a brainchild of Area 120, Google&rsquo;s internal incubator.</p>
