“Given the serious nature of the incident, I would ask anyone who knows where he is to contact police immediately. &nbsp;If you believe you see him, please do not approach him and dial 999 straight away. He may still be in possession of a weapon," he dded.

Hall also asked for the family's privacy to be respected.

Crime against women rising in UK

According to a report in The Independent in March this year, at least 350 women were killed by men since the murder of Sarah Everard, which had led to a national outcry on crimes against women.

The statistic is alarming, as it works out to three women killed every three days.

Everard, 33, was kidnapped and killed by a serving police officer on 3 March 2021.

In February this year, a United Nations human rights expert said the UK must take action to end all forms of violence against women and girls, having labelled it a “national threat”.

&nbsp;Special Rapporteur Reem Alsalem also highlighted the same data- that a woman is killed by a man every three days in the UK.
