Unlike their all-pink skin at birth, the cubs now have their parents&#39; black-and-white appearance. Their ears, eyes, arms, legs and shoulders have turned black, and their hairs should have become thicker. Only their noses and faces remain pink. 
 
According to the care team, the twin brothers can live outside the incubators now. The elder one has grown from 135 grams at birth to over 1,000 grams, while the younger one now weighs more than 700 grams compared with 53.8 grams a month before. 
 
According to a care team member from China&#39;s Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in southwest China&#39;s Sichuan Province, the brothers are developing healthily. But given that the younger one weighed less than 54 grams at birth and it&#39;s difficult for panda cubs with such light birth weight to survive, the whole team will continue their 24-hour observation and care. 
 
The team member added that the cubs will eventually open their eyes, grow out primary teeth, and start to listen and crawl. They will probably live with their mother Xinxin for the next one or two years, and then start to live independently. 
 
&quot;We have been observing their (Kaikai and Xinxin, the cubs&#39; parents) behaviors. We wanted to know if they liked each other. Kaikai is a quick-tempered young male, but he became a little bit shy when meeting a female, while Xinxin is a well-mannered lady, yet she was quite proactive during mating season,&quot; said Zhao Chuangkun, a keeper.

One-month-old twin pandas in China get visitors for first time

A Giant Panda in China has given birth to two cubs, conservation authorities said, the first twin&nbsp;of the critically endangered species this year, even though multiple births are common. 
 
Six-year-old Ya Li gave birth to&nbsp;twin sisters last month at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in the southwestern province of Sichuan. 
 
They weighed 144 grams&nbsp;and 113 grams each, said the statement from the research organisation on Monday. 
 
Ya Li was a twin herself, it added. 
 
China had 1,864 giant pandas in the wild, mainly in Sichuan, by the end of 2013, according to a government survey released last year. 
 
The country had 422 giant pandas in captivity at the end of 2015 and aims to bring the number up to 500 by 2020 in order to ensure sufficient genetic diversity among captive pandas, the official Xinhua news agency reported in January. 
 
Giant pandas have notoriously low libidos, frustrating efforts to boost their numbers. 
 
Twin pandas have been on the rise in recent years with the development of artificial insemination technology. Female bears&#39; ovulation is closely monitored and sperm from at least two males is often used to increase the chances of a successful insemination.
