Triumph Motorcycles has unveiled its latest offering for 2024: the Daytona 660. This new model marks a bold step forward for the British manufacturer, combining thrilling performance with cutting-edge technology and rider-focused design.

At the heart of the Daytona 660 lies a potent triple engine, engineered to deliver a harmonious blend of low-end torque and high-rpm power. Boasting an impressive 95PS at 11,250rpm and a redline of 12,650rpm, the bike offers riders access to over 80% of its peak torque of 69Nm from as low as 3,125rpm. This power characteristic ensures responsive acceleration across the rev range, catering to both city riding and high-speed highway jaunts.

The engine's performance is complemented by a meticulously designed exhaust system featuring 3-into-1 headers and a compact underslung silencer. This configuration not only optimises power delivery but also amplifies the distinctive triple-cylinder soundtrack that Triumph motorcycles are renowned for.

Triumph has paid close attention to the bike's handling dynamics, equipping the Daytona 660 with a lightweight sports frame and high-quality Showa suspension components. The front end features 41mm upside-down, big-piston forks, while the rear is managed by a Showa suspension unit with preload adjustment. This setup promises agile handling and a dynamic ride quality suited to both spirited cornering and comfortable touring.

Braking duties are handled by twin four-piston radial callipers paired with 310mm discs at the front, complemented by a Continental ABS system. The bike rolls on lightweight, five-spoke cast aluminium wheels shod with Michelin's latest Power 6 tyres, ensuring optimal grip and handling across various road conditions.

In line with modern performance motorcycles, the Daytona 660 comes equipped with a suite of rider aids and electronic features. A ride-by-wire throttle system enables three distinct riding modes: Sport, Road, and Rain. Each mode adjusts throttle response and traction control intervention to suit different riding conditions and preferences. For purists, the traction control system can be fully disengaged via the instrument menu.

The bike's instrumentation consists of a colour TFT screen integrated into a white-on-black LCD display, offering clear visibility in varying light conditions. An optional My Triumph Connectivity System allows for turn-by-turn navigation and smartphone integration, controlled via the handlebar switchgear for ease of use while riding.

Ergonomics have been carefully considered, with clip-on handlebars positioned above the top yoke and foot pegs placed to balance cornering clearance with rider comfort. This configuration aims to provide the feedback necessary for dynamic sports riding while ensuring comfort for longer journeys.

Customisation options abound for the Daytona 660, with over 30 Genuine Triumph Accessories available. These range from aesthetic enhancements like colour-coded seat cowls and billet-machined parts to practical additions such as heated grips, USB sockets, and luggage options. Security-conscious riders can opt for the Triumph Protect+ alarm system or the Triumph Track+ tracker with 24/7 monitoring.

Steve Sargent, Triumph's Chief Product Officer, expressed enthusiasm about the new model, stating, "The Daytona 660 has all the attitude and agility you'd expect from the Daytona name, and brings with it the thrilling, usable, real-world performance and all-day comfort that riders today are looking for. We are excited by the impact the Daytona 660 is going to have on the growing middleweight sports world."
