Canadian authorities are investigating a national security incident after multiple shots were fired at the United States Consulate General Toronto in downtown Toronto.

Police say two suspects arrived in a white Honda CRV SUV early Tuesday morning and fired several rounds at the building before fleeing the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, as the consulate’s reinforced glass and walls prevented bullets from penetrating the structure.

The investigation is being led by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police along with Toronto Police Service. Authorities have increased security at diplomatic missions, including the Israeli Consulate in Toronto and embassies in Ottawa.
