The family of the Shahzada and Suleman expressed "profound grief" at their loss on Friday.

Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his son Suleman, 19, were a part of one of Pakistan's most profitable business empires, Dawood industries.

"It is with profound grief that we announce the passing of Shahzada and Suleman Dawood," said a statement from the Dawood Foundation.

"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the other passengers on the Titan submersible," it read, signed by Hussain and Kulsum Dawood, Shahzada's parents.

<h2>No survivors from missing Titanic sub</h2>

OceanGate released a bleak statement on Thursday after the US Coast Guard said that a "debris field" has been discovered by an underwater robot searching near the wreck of the Titanic for a missing submersible with five people on board. It said that the passengers have "sadly been lost".&nbsp;

US Coast Guard Rear Admiral John Mauger said that he can't confirm whether the US Coast Guard will be able to recover the bodies of the five passengers, who were the company's CEO Stockton Rush, Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, Hamish Harding, and Paul-Henri Nargeolet.&nbsp;

According to the officials, five major pieces were detected amid the debris around the Titanic site. A nose cone, outside the pressure hull, and a larger debris field were among them.&nbsp;

"This is an incredibly unforgiving environment," Mauger added, further mentioning that a few hours ago, an ROV from the vessel Horizon Artic found the tail cone of the Titan submersible approximately 1600ft from the bow of the Titanic wreck.&nbsp;

The families of those on board were notified when they found additional debris, which according to the report was consistent with a catastrophic loss of the pressure chamber. &nbsp;

Mauger stated that the US Coast Guard will keep working near the site to gather more information. He added that it's an "incredibly complex environment" on the sea floor, two miles beneath the surface.&nbsp;

Cameron is also a deep-sea explorer.&nbsp;Cameron said the sub, Titan, had been the source of widespread concern in the close-knit ocean exploration community, and drew parallels to the 1912 ocean liner sinking in which around 1,500 people died.

"I'm struck by the similarity of the Titanic disaster itself, where the captain was repeatedly warned about ice ahead of his ship, and yet he steamed at full speed into an ice field on a moonless night, and many people died as a result," Cameron told ABC News.

"And for a very similar tragedy, where warnings went unheeded, to take place at the same exact site, with all the diving that's going on all around the world, I think it's just astonishing. It's really quite surreal."

Cameron -- who in 2012 became the first person to make a solo dive to the very deepest part of the ocean, in a submersible he designed and built -- said the risk of a sub imploding under pressure was always "first and foremost" in engineers' minds.&nbsp; "That's the nightmare that we've all lived with" since entering the field of deep exploration, he said, pointing to the sector's very strong safety record over recent decades. 
 
But "many people in the community were very concerned about this sub," he said.&nbsp;

"A number of the top players in the deep-submergence engineering community even wrote letters to the company, saying that what they were doing was too experimental to carry passengers and that it needed to be certified."

The Hollywood director also revealed that he had personally known one of the lost submersible passengers, French ocean explorer Paul-Henri "PH" Nargeolet.&nbsp;

"It's a very small community. I've known PH for 25 years. For him to have died tragically in this way is almost impossible for me to process."

Cameron has visited the Titanic shipwreck several times in the course of -- and since -- directing his 1997 epic starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, which won 11 Oscars.

"I know the wreck site very well... I actually calculated that I spent more time on the ship than the captain did back in the day," he said.&nbsp;

Titanic director James Cameron says Titan sub warnings went 'unheeded' : It was too experimental

The Simpsons seem to have predicted the Titanic submersible tragedy years ago. Or at least a part of it. On Thursday, five on board the Titan submersible were announced to be dead as oxygen ran out. Debris from the submersible has been found by rescuers who had been involved in search operations as the submarine and its five occupants went missing on Sunday. The submersible, operated by OceanGate, was taking tourists to see the wreckage of the Titanic, the biggest ship of its time that sank in 1912. 
 
On Wednesday, a video of The Simpsons went viral which seems to have predicted the real-life event years back. The video is part of the 17th season of The Simpsons cartoon series and was aired way back in 2006.&nbsp; 
 
In the 10th episode of that season, titled Simpsons Tids, Homer Simpson goes on an expedition along with a man who he believes to be his biological father. Homer is taken to the man's ship first and eventually, they embark on a journey to the depth of the ocean in a submersible in search of lost treasure in a sunken called 'Piso Mojado.'

Quite similar to how the events on the missing Titan submersible unfolded. But the similarities end there as in The Simpsons, Homer eventually wakes up in a hospital three days later.&nbsp;

Several on social media pointed out the eerie similarities between the show and the real incident.&nbsp; 
 
"Crazy how the Simpsons already predicted the missing submarine," tweeted one user. "Idk what surprises y'all of the lost submarine in the Atlantic that went down to see the remains of the Titanic. The Simpsons had already warned us," wrote added.

This is not the first time that the popular series has predicted real-life events years before they took place. 
 
In February last year, just before Russia launched its offensive against Ukraine, a clip from one of the episodes of The Simpsons in 1998 went viral that predicted the return of the Soviet Union and a new Cold War. 
 
The series has also predicted Donald Trump winning the Presidential elections, the US winning an Olympic medal, and the coronavirus pandemic among other things.
