Entering the artificial intelligence chatbot race, Sberbank said that its chatbot is a worthy contender for the popular AI-based chatbot ChatGPT. As per the bank, what sets GigaChat apart from other chatbots is its ability to communicate intelligently in Russian.&nbsp;

As per Reuters, Sberbank which is Russia's dominant bank, has in recent years invested heavily in technology. This, as per the news agency, stems from the need to reduce the nation's reliance on foreign imports.

Reducing Russia's reliance on foreign exports has recently become a critical issue as Western nations impose punitive sanctions on the nation due to its invasion of Ukraine. Many foreign nations, led by the United States, have also slashed exports to Russia.

The introduction of ChatGPT, a chatbot developed by OpenAI with support from Microsoft, in the previous year has sparked a race in the tech industry to make artificial intelligence more accessible to a wider audience. The objective, as per Reuters, is to revolutionise the way people operate and generate profits in the process.

Baidu's Ernie and Alibaba's Tongyi Qianwen chatbots like Russia's GigaChat have the capability to communicate in the country's native dialects. Recently, tech mogul and Twitter CEO Elon Musk also announced that he is working on an alternative to ChatGPT; as per reports, he has named it "TruthGPT" and it will act as a "maximum truth seeking AI."

South Korea's capital, Seoul launched its first self-driving bus route on Friday as part of an experiment that engineers explained aims to make people adjust better to driverless vehicles on the roads.&nbsp;The new vehicle looks nothing like a regular bus. It has rounded edges along with gigantic&nbsp;windows that make it appear more like a toy bus than a technological innovation. As per&nbsp;Jeong Seong-gyun,&nbsp;head of autonomous driving at 42dot,&nbsp;the start-up responsible for self-driving technology, the shape of the bus is intentionally such to make it more people-friendly. This self-driving technology is now owned by auto giant Hyundai.

"This is the future," he told AFP, adding that the bus required "a considerable new type of design".

The bus looks a bit "like Lego" and is made of composite parts to help keep costs down and make it easy to replicate, he said.

Seong-gyun noted that instead of costly sensors, it uses cameras and lasers to navigate its route.

The objective of the company was to make the technology affordable, secure, and easily adaptable to numerous types of vehicles in the future, such as delivery trucks. 
 
For the time being, the bus will autonomously navigate a brief 3.4-kilometre (2.1-mile) circle in central Seoul under the tight supervision of a safety driver. The trip takes around 20 minutes.
