Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal, who was allegedly assaulted by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's PA Bibhav Kumar, reached the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) late Thursday (May 16) expectedly for a medical check-up.

She arrived at AIIMS after the Delhi Police filed an FIR in connection with the alleged assault. Naming Bibhav Kumar in the FIR, the police registered a case under sections 354, 506, 509, and 323, among other IPC sections, for offences including assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to outrage her modesty, criminal intimidation, word gesture or acts of intent to insult, and assault. 'Was slapped, hit in the stomach' In her complaint, Maliwal said that she was "slapped, hit on the stomach, and kicked" by Kumar. She became emotional and demanded strict action in the case, sources claimed. "What happened to me was very bad. I have given my statement to the police on the incident that happened to me. I hope that appropriate action will be taken. The last few days have been very difficult for me. I thank those who prayed for me. Those who tried to do character assassination, saying that she was doing it on the instructions of the other party, may God keep them happy too," the AAP Rajya Sabha MP said in a post on X after filing the complaint. She also urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) not to politicise the incident. Efforts are on to arrest Kumar Citing sources, a report by the news agency ANI said that Special Cell and Crime Branch teams have been deployed to arrest Kumar. His location is being traced, and several teams of the police are working on it, the police added. The party added that Kejriwal is aware of the incident and will take suitable action against the person involved.

Swati Maliwal, a senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha member, visited the Civil Lines police station on Monday (May 13) morning, alleging she was assaulted by Arvind Kejriwal's personal assistant, Bibhav Kumar. However, she did not file an official complaint.

Neither Swati Maliwal nor the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) addressed the controversy on Monday.

On Tuesday, AAP MP Sanjay Singh confirmed that Kejriwal's aide did indeed misbehave with Swati Maliwal while she was waiting to meet Arvind Kejriwal at his Delhi residence. Sanjay Singh noted that the incident occurred in Kejriwal's drawing room.

"Yesterday, a condemnable incident took place. Swati Maliwal had gone to Arvind Kejriwal's residence to meet him. While she was waiting for him in the drawing room, Bibhav Kumar allegedly misbehaved with her. The CM has taken cognisance of the matter, and he will take appropriate action," he said, as quoted by&nbsp;PTI.

The Delhi Police reported on Monday that Swati Maliwal, the former chief of the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), called the PCR number at 9:34 am to report an assault by Bibhav Kumar.

She arrived at the police station at 10 am but left after five minutes without filing a formal complaint. A police officer informed PTI that she left after being told that a medical examination was required in assault cases.

Maliwal made a PCR call at around 10 am from Delhi CM’s residence. Following the call, Delhi Police reached the Chief Minister’s residence, the sources informed.

While Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva said, "This a shameful incident which has happened in the CM's residence. Arvind Kejriwal's residence has always been in the headlines for similar incidents. Swati Maliwal is known to raise issues of Delhi from time to time. I am sure she will not sit quietly in this matter and people will know what a disgusting person lives in the CM's residence."

Meanwhile,&nbsp;BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya has accused&nbsp;Swati Maliwal of maintaining&nbsp;silence on party supremo Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest.&nbsp;

The BJP leader took to the microblogging site X and wrote, “AAP RS MP and former DCW chief Swati Maliwal alleges that Delhi CM’s PA assaulted her. Call made from Delhi CM’s House. Remember, Swati Maliwal had maintained radio silence on Kejriwal’s arrest. She was in fact not even in India at that time and didn’t return for a long time.”

India's Supreme Court on Friday (May 10) granted interim bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal till June 1.&nbsp;In its order, the SC further asked Kejriwal to surrender on&nbsp;June 2.
