We were both happy that he got a big break and that our prediction came true.

Sushant's career growth felt personal. We saw him evolve from the small screen to dance reality shows and eventually to Bollywood with 'Kai Po Che' (2013).

His was a remarkable journey, from a&nbsp;small-town boy&nbsp;who dropped out of one of India's best engineering colleges to find success in showbiz.

Sushant's on-screen roles reflected his real-life persona. Be it Pavitra Rishta's Manav Deshmukh- a quintessential nice guy or Kai Po Che's Ishaan- a former district-level cricketer, who wanted to establish an academy to help budding sportspersons.

One can't forget his portrayal of former Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni in Neeraj Pandey's namesake 2016 blockbuster.

It is difficult to imagine someone else essaying the role of Dhoni with such ease. After all, just like MSD, Sushant came from a small town and remained humble even after achieving success.

He got to play an engineer on the big screen in his last theatrical release 'Chhichhore' (2019).

And then one day, he was gone and his death hit us close to home. Sushant was rare. Who would have imagined an actor to have a telescope at home?

He was as passionate about astronomy as he was about acting. Sushant showed us that one did not need to leave behind their past dreams in order to pursue new ones.

He fondly remembered his life as an engineering student.

This again made him unique as many who enter a creative field from an academic one often shun their previous lives as something that they did not enjoy.

Actors frequently talk about playing relatable roles but they hardly stress on striking a chord with the people in real life.

Sushant did not have to try. He was one of us.

It’s human to fail, to be faulty, to be distressed and to seek that love which you know you deserved, for in that love you found your strength. People have a lot of opinions about suicide. &nbsp;

Suicide is right, wrong, for the faint-hearted and god knows what not. No, it’s just a constant ongoing battle with severe depression, which you eventually lose, and that does not make you a weak person. &nbsp;

Suicide is not a spur of the moment act. The thought of it lurks around in your subconscious even while you are partying, being happy in that crowd, being out there, doing everything to seek that completeness by your standards or the one that the world imposes on yours. It’s a well thought out act. It just needs a trigger eventually to shut your gut off completely and taking your life away. Because you are just TIRED…Tired of every sham, every lie, every dream, every failure and the vast emptiness...And things went wrong too many times.&nbsp;

Please don’t judge, condition, blabber myths and isms. Stop a friend, or any human getting caught in this rut in the effort to seek the self. Don’t be a best friend but when someone is going through severe depression, the least you can do is tap it, and let them speak, speak and speak. They will eventually move on. But you might just save another life from moving on a bit too far away in a too far off land. &nbsp;

Sushant Singh Rajput, our Delhi boy, marked his debut in Bollywood with 'Kai Po Che!' in 2012 and went on to deliver massive hits like 'PK' and 'Kedarnath'. His biggest hit till date remains 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story', wherein he essayed the role of our much-loved cricketer Dhoni and went on to bag his first nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor. My eternal favourite movies of his are the romantic comedy 'Shuddh Desi Romance' and action thriller 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshi'.&nbsp;

I loved the way he acted and made it big in Bollywood. At a time when godparents in Bollywood have become a norm, this engineer boy struggled and danced his way into the Silver screen. &nbsp;

Let Sushant Singh Rajput's farewell be another reminder that mental health is real. We must always listen and keep an eye out for each other, and watch for the signs because someone confiding in you may not always be saying it in words.&nbsp;

Shocking news of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death has left the entire fraternity and the country as a whole talking about mental health and fallout of depression. The police reached early yesterday after a domestic help informed them of <a href="https://www.wionews.com/entertainment/shocked-and-speechless-bollywood-mourns-sushant-singh-rajputs-death-305761">Sushant hanging himself</a>. According to Mumbai police sources, the actor was reportedly suffering from depression as the cops have found medical papers and anti-depressant pills from his house. "Police will be contacting Rajput's doctor and record his statement to know what type of medicines he was taking and what problem he was facing," they said.

As per the initial investigation yesterday, no suicide note was found from the actor's house. The police also do not suspect any foul play so far.

However, the actor’s family in Patna, Bihar are demanding a CBI probe into the death of their son. Sushant Singh Rajput's maternal uncle is alleging that the actor has been murdered and has appealed for a CBI probe into the incident from the Union Home Minister Amit Shah and PM Narendra Modi.

"This is a case of murder. The youth of Bihar and the Rajput Mahasabha demands a CBI enquiry into the incident. We demand a CBI enquiry from Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi into the murder," said Sushant Singh Rajput's maternal uncle RC Singh.

The actor's last rites will be held today.

Sushant made a fabulous entry into Bollywood and had made a name for himself in TV prior to that. Several film bodies on Monday&nbsp;came out in support of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali&#39;s Padmavati&nbsp;and questioned the government&#39;s silence on threats by Rajput groups against the release of the film. 
 
The Indian Film and Television Directors&#39; Association (IFTDA) along with Cine and TV Artists Association (CINTAA), Western India Cinematographers Association (WICA), Screenwriters Association (SWA), Association of Cine and Television Art Directors and Costume Designers (ACTADCD), backed Bhansali at a press conference here. 
 
Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, who was present there, said an attack on Bhansali was an assault on creative freedom. 
 
&quot;Attack on Bhansali is an attack on freedom. This is very stifling. When it comes to the interpretation of history, you can disagree with him, but at least allow the film to release. By asking for a ban, you are creating an atmosphere where nobody will attempt films on Indian history,&quot; Mishra said. 
 
Bhansali has been facing trouble since he started shooting for the movie. The set of the movie was vandalised twice -- in Jaipur and Kolhapur -- and the director was roughed up by members of Karni Sena during the Jaipur schedule of the film earlier this year. 
 
Rajput groups and some BJP members have accused Bhansali of distorting facts in the movie, starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh. The film is scheduled to be released on December 1. 
 
At the press conference, actor Sushant Singh, general secretary of CINTAA, said the government should intervene at this point.&nbsp;&quot;Sanjay Leela Bhansali didn&#39;t ask us to hold this conference... We all are frustrated, angry and upset. For how long will our fraternity members keep asking for freedom of expression to make films? Why do we need to fight for such a basic right all the time?&quot; Singh asked. 
 
&quot;My question is for the state and the Central government- why are you silent? People from your parties are openly threatening to burn theatres. I have the right to ask for an assurance from the government,&quot; he added. 
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit, convenor of IFTDA, said the industry has been pushed to a point where they feel abused. 
 
&quot;We are hurt because we have been abused and accused. We are filmmakers, creative people and we don&#39;t deserve this kind of treatment. Every now and then we see our makers being heckled. We work hard, we make films. Bhansali is a symbol and attack on him is like abusing the film fraternity,&quot; he said. 
 
Pandit said on November 16 there will be a silent protest outside the Film City gates here to support Bhansali. &quot;The entire film fraternity will come out at 11 AM. No shoot will be done from 4-4:15 PM as a symbolic support to Bhansali,&quot; Pandit added. 
 
He also said that the bodies will write letters to I&amp;B minister Smriti Irani tomorrow and Union home minister Rajnath Singh. 
 
Veteran actor and CINTAA President Vikram Gokhale, who worked with Bhansali in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, said the filmmaker is a responsible man and his vision should be trusted.
