Callum, Jake, and Carter went missing while on a vacation surfing near the popular tourist town of Ensenada, about 90 minutes south of the US-Mexico border on the Pacific coast. The three surfers were last seen on April 27 and reported missing a couple of days later, when authorities launched a multi-day search with the help of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). They were believed to have been killed during a botched theft of their pick-up truck. Prosecutors earlier said that three suspects, two men, and one woman, have been detained on suspicion of involvement in the case. One of those arrested has a history of violence, drug dealing, and robbery, according to officials. A preliminary hypothesis said that the arrested individuals attempted to carjack the foreigners and when the surfers resisted they were shot and their bodies dumped in a well. 'Bodies found in advanced state of decomposition' On Saturday, Andrade said that the bodies were found in an advanced state of decomposition at the bottom of the well.
