The scientists in China have laid out a road map for creating network infrastructure between Earth and the moon which is expected to make space travel easier.&nbsp;

As per the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) and the Beijing Institute of Spacecraft System Engineering's researchers, the complete network of three lunar ground stations and 30 satellites will provide monitoring services, navigation and real-time communication to global users.&nbsp;

The aim of creating this superhighway is to allow 20 or more space travellers to communicate simultaneously with Earth through audio, images or video.&nbsp;

The network will also provide&nbsp;accurate positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) when the spacecraft is travelling between the moon and Earth and lunar surface operations are being carried out.&nbsp;

This network will also monitor as well as track the moving targets called the cislunar space, which are in the region between the Earth and the&nbsp;moon even though they are as small as one metre, the&nbsp;researchers wrote in the journal Chinese Space Science and Technology in June.

“Cislunar space has become a new frontier for human activities,” said the team headed by Yang Mengfei, chief designer of China’s&nbsp;Chang’e-5 mission.

“Space activities in this region are set to expand rapidly over the next decade, driving a new round of global competition," the team explained.

“The competition for resources such as orbital slots and radio frequencies is already on, and will only get more intense in the future. There’s an urgent need for China to establish a top-level road map to develop cislunar space infrastructure and gain a competitive edge in the emerging cislunar economy," they added.

Cislunar space is the region between Earth and the moon. This includes the orbits of&nbsp;satellites&nbsp;around Earth and the space where the orbit of the moon is placed.

The researchers said that China is becoming a major player in deep space and lunar exploration and hence strategic planning is critical to “avoid repetitive construction and optimise resource allocation” for future missions.

Alex Hearn, a biology professor and founding member of&nbsp;MigraMar, which is a coalition of scientists and environmental groups, said, “Protecting biodiversity hotspots around the islands is not enough.”&nbsp;&nbsp;

Hearn’s&nbsp;team&nbsp;is campaigning for the entire&nbsp;swimway&nbsp;to be protected. This&nbsp;swimway&nbsp;is&nbsp;an area, which&nbsp;stretches&nbsp;over 240,000 square&nbsp;kilometres&nbsp;of ocean.&nbsp;

The&nbsp;team&nbsp;looks&nbsp;to get&nbsp;fishing restrictions&nbsp;extended&nbsp;beyond the current&nbsp;74-km radius around the Galapagos islands and&nbsp;22-km&nbsp;radius around Cocos Island. It will help in&nbsp;creating a narrow-protected channel between the two.&nbsp;

Pakistan Prime Minister Shadid Abbasi on Saturday inaugurated the first section of the 392-km Multan-Sukkur Motorway, which is the largest transportation infrastructure project under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).&nbsp;

The superhighway is located in the country's eastern Punjab province, Multan. The six-lane superhighway will connect Karachi with Peshawar through the provinces of Punjab and Sindh.

The motorway, called M-5, will reduce the travel distance between Multan and Sukkur from 463 km to 392 km.&nbsp;

The project will be completed by August 2019 and will have 107 underpasses, 188 subways, 100 bridges.

Abbasi has branded the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a "game changer" for the country.

Calling the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and CPEC "a transformative project representing economic cooperation between Islamabad and Beijing," Abbasi said that the BRI is "a truly global public good", which has been planned to benefit the people living in geographically distinct areas, the People's Daily reported.&nbsp;

Calling the CPEC project a "game changer" for Pakistan, Abbasi stressed that the initial phase of the economic corridor was progressing well and so, a network of roads and the infrastructure at Gwadar Port in Balochistan were being developed on a priority basis.

The Pakistan Prime Minister further said that the next stage of developing the CPEC project was to set up Special Economic Zones (SEZs), which would lead to the strengthening of the country's economy and creating employment opportunities.

Pakistan Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal also said that Pakistan would be the 'industrial hub' of the entire South Asian region soon, after the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project is built.
