Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala on Friday said that his party will form the government in the state with the support of independent legislators as it fell short of achieving an absolute majority on its own.

"Independent candidates have come to BJP's side. The government will be formed under the leadership of ML Khattar Ji. He is coming to Delhi today to hold discussions," he told ANI.

BJP has won 40 seats in the 90-member Haryana assembly and needs the support of six MLAs to cross the half-way mark to retain power in the state.

Barala said that people have given the mandate to BJP and the party will introspect the reason behind losing on some seats.

"Both the party and I will learn from the results of these elections. We will take steps to strengthen the party in the state," he said.

BJP's Haryana in-charge Anil Jain also reiterated that the party will again form government in the state.

"With the blessing of people of Haryana, we will again form government in the state. We have emerged as the single largest party," he said.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will meet BJP Working President JP Nadda and party's Haryana in-charge Anil Jain today to discuss government formation in Haryana.

Earlier, Lokhit Party leader Gopal Kanda, the winning candidate from Sirsa assembly constituency was also seen leaving Nadda's residence yesterday.

Kanda's brother Gobind Kanda had said that Haryana Lokhit Party is in touch with five more MLAs, who will extend their "unconditional support" to the ruling party.

Sections 365 (kidnapping or abducting with intent secretly and wrongfully to confine person) and 511 (punishment for attempting to commit offenses punishable with imprisonment for life or other imprisonment) have now been added to the FIR.&nbsp;

The Chandigarh Police was earlier accused of dropping these two serious charges after which Vikas Barala and his friend were let out on bail without being produced in the court.

The official, Chandigarh Director General of Police Vikas Barala, said that there was no political pressure on the police.

Asked about the reason behind adding the fresh charge, the DGP explained that in the last four days, the police had recorded the statements of witnesses and also examined CCTV footage.

&quot;We reconstructed the scene of crime. We have also reconstructed the route of the chase and from there, many new facts, new evidences have emerged,&quot; he said.

&quot;Because in this investigation, there are many things for which we require their custody...We will confront them with facts and the scene of crime, which was the route of the chase. It will be reconstructed along with the accused. Many facts will be confirmed in that process,&quot; he said.

'If I don't win this, maybe the next one will': Chandigarh woman who was stalked

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday dismissed reports of Haryana BJP Chief Subhash Barala`s resignation, after his son, Vikas Barala, <a href="http://www.wionews.com/south-asia/lucky-i-wasnt-raped-chandigarh-woman-stalked-allegedly-by-haryana-bjp-chiefs-son-18644" target="_blank">was arrested on Saturday on the charges of stalking</a> and harassing an IAS officer`s daughter in Chandigarh.

&quot;BJP Haryana Chief Subhash Barala has not resigned. The matter is related to his son. The law will take its own course,&quot; BJP sources revealed.

Earlier, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar too opined that the incident had no involvement of Subhash Barala.&nbsp;

However, he assured that the accused, if found guilty, will be punished.

&quot;I have complete faith on the Chandigarh Police. Justice will prevail. The accused will be punished once found guilty. This is my official stand on this matter. This case has nothing to do with Subhash Barala. Such act is highly condemnable if proved correct,&quot; the Chief Minister told the media.

A case was registered by the Chandigarh Police against Vikas and other youth under Section 354 D (stalking) of the Indian Penal Code and Section 185 (Motor Vehicle Act) of the CRPC on the basis of complaint filed by the woman.

Narrating the horrific ordeal, the girl, who is the daughter of an IAS officer, told the media that she was lucky for not being the daughter of a common man.

&quot;I`m lucky, it seems, to not be the daughter of a common man, because what chance would they have against such VIPs? I`m also lucky, because I`m not lying raped and murdered in a ditch somewhere,&quot; the woman wrote in a Facebook post, pointing that the two men, she accused of perturbing her, &quot;are from influential families with political connections.&quot;

In the latest development, the <a href="http://www.wionews.com/south-asia/cameras-along-the-route-non-functional-say-cops-probing-haryana-stalking-incident-18667" target="_blank">CCTV footage of five cameras reportedly went missing</a>, thus resulting in further criticism of the BJP-led state government.

&quot;Now new things have come out that five out of seven CCTV cameras were non functional. How have they suddenly become non functional? We have lost the importance piece of evidence,&quot; Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala told ANI.

Furthermore, he accused the BJP of pressurising Chandigarh administration to protect the son of the Haryana BJP Chief.

Surjewala also alleged that the BJP is hatching a conspiracy to shield the Haryana state chief`s son, who harassed and stalked an IAS officer`s daughter in an alleged inebriated state in Chandigarh.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday dismissed reports of Haryana BJP Chief Subhash Barala`s resignation, after his son, Vikas Barala, was arrested on Saturday on the charges of stalking and harassing an IAS officer`s daughter in Chandigarh. "BJP Haryana Chief Subhash Barala has not resigned. The matter is related to his son. The law will take its own course," BJP sources revealed. Earlier, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar too opined that the incident had no involvement of Subhash Barala. However, he assured that the accused, if found guilty, will be punished. "I have complete faith on the Chandigarh Police. Justice will prevail. The accused will be punished once found guilty. This is my official stand on this matter. This case has nothing to do with Subhash Barala. Such act is highly condemnable if proved correct," the Chief Minister told the media. Narrating the horrific ordeal, the girl, who is the daughter of an IAS officer, told the media that she was lucky for not being the daughter of a common man. "I`m lucky, it seems, to not be the daughter of a common man, because what chance would they have against such VIPs? I`m also lucky, because I`m not lying raped and murdered in a ditch somewhere," the woman wrote in a Facebook post, pointing that the two men, she accused of perturbing her, "are from influential families with political connections." In the latest development, the CCTV footage of five cameras reportedly went missing, thus resulting in further criticism of the BJP-led state government. "Now new things have come out that five out of seven CCTV cameras were non functional. How have they suddenly become non functional? We have lost the importance piece of evidence," Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala told ANI. Furthermore, he accused the BJP of pressurising Chandigarh administration to protect the son of the Haryana BJP Chief. Surjewala also alleged that the BJP is hatching a conspiracy to shield the Haryana state chief`s son, who harassed and stalked an IAS officer`s daughter in an alleged inebriated state in Chandigarh. Chandigarh stalking: BJP rules out Haryana party chief's resignation

The Chandigarh Police that is investigating the incident of stalking of the daughter of an IAS officer by Vikas Barala, son of Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala, has said that the cameras that were placed along the route which the girl took were not functional.

Vikas Barala was arrested by the police on Saturday on <a href="http://www.wionews.com/south-asia/lucky-i-wasnt-raped-chandigarh-woman-stalked-allegedly-by-haryana-bjp-chiefs-son-18644" target="_blank">charges of stalking the IAS officer&#39;s daughter</a> but was later released on bail.

The Congress party has accused the BJP of hushing up the matter.

Congress party spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said, &quot;Now new things have come out that five out of seven CCTV cameras were non-functional. How have they suddenly become non-functional? We have lost an important piece of evidence.&quot;

Cameras along route non-functional, say cops probing Chandigarh stalking

China has again extended by three months its technical hold on the US, France and UK- backed proposal to designate Pakistan-based JeM terror group chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist by the UN. 
 
China had in February this year blocked the US move to designate Azhar, the Pathankot terror attack mastermind, as a global terrorist at the UN. 
 
The deadline for China to take action on its technical hold was till August 2. 
 
If China would not have extended the technical hold, Azhar would have automatically been designated under the UN as a terrorist. Sources told PTI here that just before the deadline lapsed, China once again sought a three-month extension until November 2 on its technical hold on the proposal. 
 
A veto-wielding permanent member of the Security Council, Beijing has repeatedly blocked India&#39;s move to put a ban on the Jaish-e-Mohammed leader under the AlQaeda Sanctions Committee of the Council. JeM has already been in the banned list. 
 
Last year in March, China was the sole member in the 15- nation UN organ to put a hold on India&#39;s application with all other 14 members of the Council supporting New Delhi&#39;s bid to place Azhar on the 1267 sanctions list that would subject him to an assets freeze and travel ban. 
 
The six-month validity of that technical hold lapsed in September and Beijing then extended it by three more months. 
 
In December last year, after China blocked India&#39;s proposal to list the JeM chief, Indian diplomatic sources here had said that the pursuit of terrorism was not a &quot;one-shot affair&quot; for India and that it will continue to pursue issues of terrorism &quot;through all available mechanisms&quot;. 
 
Sources had said that the block would not prevent India from pursuing at the world body issues of terrorism and sanctioning of leaders of terror outfits.

Lucky I wasn't raped: Chandigarh woman stalked allegedly by Haryana BJP chief's son

Vikas Barala, son of Haryana BJP Chief Subhash Barala and his friend&nbsp;were on Saturday arrested for allegedly stalking a girl in capital Chandigarh.

They were later released on bail.

The girl had accused Vikas Barala and his friend Ashish Kumar of stalking her last night after which they were arrested, a top police official told PTI.&nbsp;

Both the accused have been called for questioning and investigation is underway, police said.

&quot;We arrested both Vikas and Ashish and later they were bailed out,&quot; Deputy Superintendent of Police, Chandigarh, Satish Kumar said.

He added that the girl,&nbsp;daughter of an IAS officer, had been asked to record her statement before the area&#39;s magistrate in Chandigarh.

A case has been registered against the accused under the Indian Penal Code (IPC&#39;s) section 354 D (stalking) and 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act (driving by a drunken person or by a person under the influence of drugs), police said.

The DSP said more sections could be added once the girl&#39;s statement is recorded.

The case was registered at Sector 26 police station.
