The Movie Artists' Association (MAA) lifted a ban that it had imposed on Telugu actress Sri Reddy on Thursday after NHRC sent notices to the Telangana government and the Union Information and Broadcasting Ministry over Reddy's allegations. 
 
Reddy had stripped in front of &nbsp;Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce office on Saturday alleging that some of the prominent producers of the Telugu film industry had sexually exploited her in lieu of film roles. A day later, the association had imposed a ban on the actress and forbidden its 900 odd members from working with her ever.

On Thursday, National Human Rights Commission took suo moto cognizance of media reports about the allegations raised by Ms Reddy and a lack of grievance redressal mechanism for women in the film industry. 
 
Following the Commission`s observation, MAA President said they had no grudge against Reddy but since her allegations hurt the artistes, it was decided to impose the ban.

He said all 900 members of MAA were free to work with Reddy.

The ban was lifted after NHRC sent a notice to Telangana government.

The officials of MAA, on Sunday, met for an emergency meeting and rejected Sri's application seeking membership in the association. The body also issued a warning to all its 900 members against working with her in future.&nbsp; 
 
To get roles in films, it is mandatory to be a member of MAA. The association believes Sri’s recent move outside its office on Saturday is sheer blackmailing.&nbsp; 
 
The actress has been vocal about the alleged exploitation of women in the film industry. As the controversy took steam post her stripping act, Sri Reddy then went on to claim that the one of the top producer's son used to force her to have sex with him in the studio. At that time, she didn’t reveal the name of the producer but then went on to establish that she was talking about Suresh Babu's son <a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/entertainment-south-indian-film-casting-couch-telugu-actress-sri-reddy-says-producers-son-forced-her-to-have-sex-129867">Abhiram Daggubati</a>. Post her claims, she shared private pictures of her with Abhiram.&nbsp; 
 
Meanwhile, Sri has found a supporter in Ram Gopal Varma who tweeted, "Sri Reddy has become a national celebrity. People in Mumbai who don’t even know Pawan Kalyan are talking about Sri Reddy”. 
 
The Telugu film industry has been rattled by the allegations that Sri has imposed on prominent producers. While everyone has denied the allegations made by her, her claims have surely opened a can of worms in the film industry.&nbsp;
