Former West Indies captain and T20 great Kieron Pollard smashed Rashid Khan for five straight sixes in an over in The Hundred. Retiring from international cricket two years ago, Pollard took on Rashid, who is at the peak of his prowess, whacking him for five biggies and helping his team, Southern Brave, to a thrilling two-wicket win over Trent Rockets in Southampton.&nbsp;

With this, Pollard also became the first batter in all of cricket to smash five consecutive sixes in an over twice. During a T20I against Sri Lanka in 2021, Pollard became the first batter from West Indies to hit six sixes in an over to Akila Dananjaya.

Speaking of his match-winning knock, and especially his inning against Rashid, the former West Indies captain said, “I had to make a play at some point. I was really slow to start, but I didn't think it was a pitch where you could just come in and hit the ball, so I had to really try and calculate and pick my bowler.

“I've played against Rash a lot, and he's got me out a lot of times, so I had to see what was happening, but I knew the sort of line and length he was going to bowl.&nbsp;

“If he bowled full, I was going to back my strength, which is hitting straight, and he bowled three fuller balls, and it was right in my arc. I couldn't stop at that point in time, I had to get the maximum. Rash is a world-class bowler, but this was just one of the days where I took victory.”

Southern Brave won the inaugural Hundred competition on Saturday, comfortably beating Birmingham Phoenix in the men's final at a packed Lord's after Oval Invincibles won the women's crown. 
 
After a month of thrills and spills in the new 100-ball format that has proved popular with the fans, the men's final was denied the thrilling climax it deserved. 
 
Southern Brave scored 168-5 from their 100 balls with a bludgeoning 61 from Paul Stirling in 36 balls, while Ross Whiteley smashed 44 from 19 balls late on. 
 
Phoenix never really got going in reply, however, after opener David Bedingham went for a duck and Will Smeed for two.

After setting a target of 122, the Brave were bowled out for 73 with Marizanne Kapp taking three wickets. 
 
"It is so historical and special," Invincibles skipper Dane Van Niekerk said. "I don't know if I'll ever be able to take in playing here. It was a childhood dream to play a final here and win it. It is special."
