<p>Priyanka Chopra's former New York City restaurant, Sona, is going to shut down soon. The news of the elite eatery closing comes months after the actress withdrew as a partner from the restaurant.</p>

<p>On Wednesday (June 19), the restaurant's Instagram handle announced the closure of the New York-based restaurant. The eatery's last day will be&nbsp;June 30.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The post reads, “After More than three remarkable years, Sona will be closing. We have immense gratitude for everyone who walked through our doors. It’s been our greatest honor to serve you.”</p>

<p>“SONA’s final service will be brunch on Sunday, June 30,” it reads further.</p>

<h2>Why did Priyanka Chopra step away from&nbsp;Sona?</h2>

<p>In 2021, actor-producer Priyanka founded the Indian restaurant. It was&nbsp;integrated by&nbsp; The <em>Citadel</em> actress and her husband, Nick Jonas.&nbsp; After two years of collaboration, Chopra ended her association with Sona in 2023, a spokesperson for the star told People magazine.</p>

<p>"Priyanka has stepped away from her partnership at Sona. Bringing Sona to life will invariably be a proud and significant moment in her career. Priyanka has always endeavoured to bring Indian culture to the fore through storytelling, whether that's via engaging content for film and TV, or a beautifully plated dish that embodies the haute cuisine of India," a representative said in a statement.</p>

<p>"Stepping away from Sona allows her to broaden these ambitions on a more global scale, and she's excited about the possibilities that await," the spokesperson said earlier.&nbsp;</p>

It was integrated by The Citadel actress and her husband, Nick Jonas. After two years of collaboration, Chopra ended her association with Sona in 2023, a spokesperson for the star told People magazine. "Priyanka has stepped away from her partnership at Sona. Bringing Sona to life will invariably be a proud and significant moment in her career. Priyanka has always endeavoured to bring Indian culture to the fore through storytelling, whether that's via engaging content for film and TV, or a beautifully plated dish that embodies the haute cuisine of India," a representative said in a statement. "Stepping away from Sona allows her to broaden these ambitions on a more global scale, and she's excited about the possibilities that await," the spokesperson said earlier.
