The Border Security Force on Monday handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh to its jawan Mohammed Anees after his house in northeast Delhi was vandalized and burnt by rioters.

The border guarding force has also pledged to rebuild the house of the jawan and hand it over to him as a 'wedding gift', as he is scheduled to get married soon, a Border Security Force (BSF) spokesperson said.

The engineering and technical team of the force is already on job, the spokesperson said.

"Constable Anees along with his father Mohammed Munis met Inspector General D K Upadhyay at the force headquarters here at Lodhi Road.

The jawan was handed over a cheque of Rs 10 lakh," the spokesperson added.

Another senior official said the welfare funds of the force were utilized and other resources were mobilized to assist their 29-year-old colleague whose house in Khajuri Khas area of the national capital was badly burnt and vandalized by rioting mobs when communal violence engulfed parts of northeast Delhi last week.

The riots in areas like Jaffrabad, Maujpur, Gokalpuri, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpur and few others have leftover 40 people dead and more than 200 injured.

Anees is posted at a BSF camp in Radhabari near West Bengal's Siliguri after he recently completed a stint in the anti-Naxal operations grid in Odisha.

The BSF has also decided to post to him to a unit in the national capital region so that he can take care of his family, officials had said.

The BSF, with about 2.5 lakh personnel in its ranks, is primarily mandated to guard Indian fronts with Pakistan and Bangladesh apart from rendering a variety of roles in the internal security domain of the country.

At least four Indian soldiers, including a senior officer, were on Saturday killed in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan at the Keri (120 Infantry Brigade) Battalion area of Jammu and Kashmir.

Major Moharkar Prafulla Ambadas, 32, Lance Naik Gurmail Singh, 34, and Sepoy Pargat Singh, 30,&nbsp; and Lance Naik Kuldeep Singh were grievously injured during the ceasefire violation and succumbed to their injuries.&nbsp;

One soldier&nbsp;was injured in the firing and is undergoing treatment at a nearby hospital.&nbsp;

The Army, in a statement, said that Indian troops retaliated &quot;strongly and effectively&quot;.

Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh paid rich tributes to the slain soldiers and condemned Pakistan for the ceasefire violation further adding that Pakistan has got isolated at the global stage, especially on the issue of terrorism.

&quot;Pakistan is indulging in such cowardly actions and is being given a befitting response, but it does not desist from such cowardly acts. Pakistan is a terrorist state and it will not be too long before the country is declared a terrorist state by the world. It does not only support terrorism but also provide state sponsorship,&quot; Singh told reporters on the sidelines of a function here.

Major Ambadas&nbsp;belonged to Bhandara district in Maharashtra and is survived by wife Avoli Moharkar, while Lance Naik Gurmail Singh&nbsp;belonged to Amritsar district in Punjab and is survived by wife Kuljit Kaur and a daughter.

Sepoy Pargat Singh&nbsp;belonged to Karnal district in Haryana and is survived by wife Ramanpreet Kaur and a son, the Army said.

&quot;Major Ambadas, Lance Naik Gurmail and Sepoy Pargat were brave and sincere soldiers. The nation will always remain indebted to them for their supreme sacrifice and devotion to duty,&quot; the Army statement said.
