<p>Also known as Motishwar Mandir, the temple&nbsp;is situated near Sultan&rsquo;s Palace, about 35km from Seeb Airport.</p>

<p>The temple has a Gujarat connection, too. It is believed to have been constructed by the Bhatia merchant community from Kutch, which settled in Muscat as early as 1507. &nbsp;</p>

<p>The Temple is open throughout the year from morning 5:30 am to 11:30 am and evening 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm from Sunday to Friday and on Saturday from morning 5:30 am to 11:30 am and evening 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm.</p>

<p>During the weekdays about 400 devotees visit the temple while on weekends 1500 to 4000 devotee come to offer prayers.&nbsp;</p>

<p>During the auspicious days and festivals like Mahashivratri and Diwali, about 5000 to 15000 devotees throng the temple.</p>

<p>According to some media reports, the strongest belief is that even though Muscat is a desert, there is a well inside the premises of the Shiva temple that is said to have water throughout the year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>There are three priests in the temple along with three support staff and four administrative staff working for Temple in addition to volunteers rendering their services according to their convenient timings.</p>

<p>The temple is managed by the Management of Hindu Temple recognised body by Ministry of Endowments &amp; Religious Affairs.&nbsp;<br />
