In the bizarre promotion of herself, the candidate Airi Uchino - who belonged to the populist right-wing NHK Party - was sitting across a table. She was wearing a button-up shirt as she spoke in a high-pitched, anime-style voice to the Japanese voters.

“I’m so cute; please watch my campaign broadcast,” the candidate said while smiling coyly in the video shared on X on June 27. She added, “Do you think I’m sexy?”

She then appealed to the voters to follow her on social media and said that she would respond to each one of them individually before she removed her shirt and was then seen wearing only a tight, skin-coloured tube top. She also posed in a way that made her appear topless on camera.

The woman, who is a cocktail bar owner, removed her glasses and delivered the entire speech in a skimpy outfit. The video soon went viral and garnered millions of views.
