Defending their choice of food, Sahani highlighted the date mentioned in the video as April 8 and questioned BJP's lack of substantive agendas. "If it's a thing to eat, shouldn't we eat?.. The date of April 8 is clearly there in the video. But the opposition has nothing in the name of agenda. It's about people's choice of what they want to eat..."

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday refuted reports of rift within his family and alleged that the rumours were being spread at the instance of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to demoralise party cadre and supporters.

The younger son of Lalu Prasad was responding to a query by reporters about the family facing frequent grilling and raids by investigating agencies, besides reports that his elder brother Tej Pratap Yadav and eldest sister Misa Yadav were miffed over having been politically overshadowed by him.

"All these reports of a rift within our family are planted at the instance of Nitish Kumar. Attempts are being made to psychologically affect our dedicated workers and supporters," Tejashwi Yadav said.

"It appears that those in power wish to seek votes in the name of what is happening to my family instead of speaking about their own performance. This is new India under Narendra Modi for you," he said.

To a query about Union minister and RLSP chief Upendra Kushwaha's possibility of joining the RJD, Congress, HAM combine in Bihar, he said, "We had invited him long back and the invitation stands. But it is for him to take the decision."

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) ward councillor Kedar Rai was shot dead in Patna early Thursday, ANI reported.

According to ANI, Rai was shot at three times by some unknown assailants while he was on his morning walk.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared &ldquo;brought dead&rdquo; by the doctors.

Rai was a close confidante of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.

The assailants fled from the site after shooting Rai.

The police have begun probing the incident, ANI reports.&nbsp;

The court has given the authorities a week to carry out its order, and said that any pending trials in the cases against Shahabuddin can be carried out via video conferencing.&nbsp;

A bench of Justices Dipak Misra and Amitava Roy said: &quot;It is the obligation and duty of this court to ensure free and fair trial&quot;.

The court order came on the pleas of the Siwan-based Chandrakeshwar Prasad, whose three sons were killed in two separate incidents, and Asha Ranjan, the wife of journalist Rajdeo Ranjan who was murdered in Siwan, who had asked that the RJD leader be moved out of Siwan jail.

The petitioners had told the Supreme Court that Shahabuddin should be moved out of the state, so that a free and fair trial can be carried out against him.

The court agreed with the petitioners. turning down Shahabuddin&#39;s plea that moving him out of the state would be violative of his fundamental rights.&nbsp;
