Due to extreme climatic conditions, and the persistent dry weather, there has been a historic two-month delay, in the annual migration of Australia's Christmas Island red crabs. This comes as the crabs are about to start their annual journey from the interiors of the island to the sea where they mate.

A Cuban city of Matanzas is seeing swarms of crabs. The number of red crabs dramatically increased during Covid. During spring, millions of red, yellow, black crabs migrate from forest to sea. Due to reduced traffic during Covid, crabs increased in numbers & size.
