Scientists have recorded a "lonely" dolphin speaking to himself in the Baltic Sea.&nbsp;

Dolphins are known to be social animals and they have been seen "smiling" when they are playing with one another by scientists.

However, in a new find, scientists observed a lonely bottlenose dolphin, named Delle speaking to himself near the Svendborgsund channel in Demark.&nbsp;

Scientists used a recording device to record the sounds, and the experts soon felt that the dolphin was talking to himself.

“Out of curiosity, I decided to add a recorder that captures actual sounds,” said Olga Filatova, cetacean biologist at the University of Southern Denmark and lead author of the study, while speaking to Live Science.

“I thought we might pick up a few distant whistles or something along those lines. I certainly didn’t anticipate recording thousands of different sounds," she added.&nbsp;

In the recording, thousands of bursts of clicks, whistles, and other sounds of different frequencies were picked. In total, they recorded 10,833 sounds in a span of more than 69 days of recording.&nbsp;

Three different kinds of whistles were picked up in the recording, all of which were produced by the dolphin.&nbsp;

“Bottlenose dolphins have what are known as signature whistles, believed to be unique to each individual, much like a name,” explained Filatova.

“If we hadn't known that Delle was alone, we might have concluded that a group of at least three dolphins was engaged in various social interactions," she added.&nbsp;

“These sounds are traditionally considered communicative, meaning there should be at least two dolphins 'talking' to each other. But Delle was completely alone," she further stated.&nbsp;

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky said Friday he wanted to give his prime minister a "second chance" and refused to accept his resignation after a recording emerged of the premier questioning the head of state's grasp of economics.

Prime Minister Oleksiy Goncharuk had offered to quit after the leaked recording revealed him saying the president had a "primitive understanding" of the economy.&nbsp;

"I have decided to give you and your government a second chance," Zelensky said during a meeting with Goncharuk in a video released by the presidency.

It marked the first major political test for Zelensky, a comedian with no previous political experience, who swept to power in a landslide victory at last year's presidential election.

His "Servant of the People" party later won a large majority in parliament.

He has been embroiled in the US impeachment process and faced tough talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, but had thus far managed to avoid any significant domestic political problems.

The audio recording was leaked on social media on Wednesday and came from an informal December meeting between ministers and senior officials from the National Bank.

According to local media reports, the participants discussed how to explain recent economic developments to Zelensky.

"Zelensky has a very primitive understanding of economic processes, or rather a simple understanding," Goncharuk said on the recording, adding that he himself was an economic "ignoramus".

After initially denying reports he would step down, Goncharuk announced on his official Facebook page on Friday that he had offered to resign.

"To remove any doubts about our respect for and trust in the president, I have written a resignation letter," wrote Goncharuk.

In the video released by the presidency, Zelensky did not mention the leaked comments but did refer to "a scandal" and "a very unpleasant situation".&nbsp;

He urged the prime minister to "improve the cooperation with parliament and to optimise the salaries of government officials".

The payment of large bonuses to officials has caused a scandal in recent weeks in the former Soviet republic, one of the poorest countries in Europe.

"Such wages cannot occur in Ukraine with the current state of the economy," Zelensky said in the video, which depicted a round-table meeting with Goncharuk in an ornate, gilded room.

Goncharuk thanked the president for his confidence, admitting a "shortcoming in the work" of the government.

Before Zelensky rejected the resignation offer, several analysts were sceptical he would ever accept.

"It looks like theatre... in which Zelensky plays the role of a good tsar" by refusing the offer, said analyst Anatoliy Oktysiuk of Democracy House in Kiev.

He said the crisis likely reflected an internal struggle for influence over the new president.

Timothy Ash, a London-based economist and expert on Ukraine, said accepting the resignation would have sent "a very negative message to reformers".

"This is an important test of Zelensky's reform credentials," he said.

The hiring and firing of prime ministers is the formal remit of the parliament and some criticised Goncharuk for sending his letter directly to the president.

Zelensky came to power promising sweeping change and has since taken several steps to resolve the separatist conflict, including prisoner exchanges and a landmark meeting with Putin in Paris last month.

But critics have accused him of doing little so far to boost the economy or tackle endemic corruption.

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), India&#39;s second-most valuable company, said on Friday that it took exception to media reports which suggested the company&#39;s top officials had armtwisted politicians for business gain.&nbsp; 
 
The media reports are based on phone taps allegedly made by another Indian company &ndash; the Essar Group. The taps were recorded over a six-year period by a former Essar employee and now make up a 29-page complaint submitted to the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi by a Supreme Court lawyer, Suren Uppal, who says he represents the former Essar employee. 
 
&ldquo;We are shocked at reports which suggest that we have been victims of unauthorised and illegal tapping of our telephones. Conversations attributed to us are false and appear to have been doctored by someone who seeks to defame us,&rdquo; said a statement released by the RIL spokesperson. 
 
The media reports allege the tapped conversations reveal businessmen soliciting favours from politicians, the widespread peddling of influence in the corridors of power, &ldquo;corruption in the business milieu&rdquo;, and the blurring of lines between business and government. 
 
The list of people tapped is a lit who&#39;s who and include current Indian railway minister Suresh Prabhu, current Indian minister of state for power with independent charge Piyush Goel, former national security adviser Brajesh Mishra, prominent politician Mulayam Singh Yadav, film actor Amitabh Bachchan, bureaucrats and, of course, RIL chief Mukesh Ambani and his brother Anil Ambani. 
 
The statement released by the company said that it had, at all times, abided by the law of the land &ndash; in letter and in spirit &ndash; &ldquo;in all our actions and business activities and any suggestion of any wrongdoing was plainly false&rdquo;.&nbsp; 
 
The company demanded that action be taken against these &ldquo;malicious falsehoods&rdquo; and that the alleged violation of their privacy be taken seriously. It added that it would cooperate fully with the authorities in the matter.

The main Indian opposition party the Congress meanwhile demanded that the tapes be made public, and that the people would be the &ldquo;best judge&rdquo; of their veracity. &ldquo;The allegations are serious and multifaceted implications, but most importantly if those tapes exist, they need to be made public because the people need to know as to what is going on,&rdquo; Congress leader Manish Tewari told ANI.
