Japan has announced its biggest overhaul of laws around sex crimes. It has reworked the definition of rape and raised the age of consent from 13 to 16.

In a major reform in its criminal court, Spain has tightened its rape laws. Under the new law, explicit consent for sex is a must. The law is known as 'Only Yes Means Yes'. It was passed by Spain's parliament with 205 votes in favour and 141 against.
