Nepal`s newly elected president Ramchandra Paudel has been admitted to a hospital after he complained of acute stomach pain, as per local media outlets.&nbsp;

He was taken to Tribhuwan University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu's Maharajgunj on April 1 and his principal adviser Suresh Chalise confirmed that the president was to remain in the hospital overnight. While confirming that president experienced acute stomach ache, Chalise said, “Doctors are examining him and he will remain in the hospital tonight.”

Kathmandu Post&nbsp;reported that the hospital issued a statement saying, "He was admitted to the hospital late on Saturday, and is under observation."&nbsp;

As per a statement by the hospital’s duty officer (control room), Paudel was admitted during the evening time on Saturday and is presently under a doctor's supervision. “He is currently under doctors’ observation.”&nbsp;

The President's Secretariat also confirmed that Paudel complained of abdominal pain upon which he was taken to the hospital for medical supervision.&nbsp;

Ram Chandra Paudel, a senior member of the Nepali Congress, was sworn in as the country's president just two weeks ago replacing Bidya Devi Bhandari, whose term ended on March 12. According to the Nepalese Election Commission, Paudel received 33,802 electoral votes, while Subash Chandra Nembwang received 15,518.

President Paudel formerly held the positions of Speaker, Cabinet Minister, and deputy prime minister of Nepal.&nbsp;

The election for president also included participation from 518 members of the provincial assembly and 313 members of the federal parliament, according to the Nepalese Election Commission. The vote took place at New Baneshwar, Kathmandu, in the Nepali Parliament building. In the Himalayan nation, the Election Commission had set up two different polling places at the Hall for members of the Provincial Assembly and the federal parliament.&nbsp;

The Electoral College has 884 members in total, comprising 275 from the House of Representatives, 59 from the National Assembly, and 550 from each of the seven provincial assemblies. Paudel received backing from eight parties. Paudel was born in a middle-class farming family on October 14, 1944, in Bahunpokhari.

The main accused in the murder of Surendra Singh, a close aide of Amethi MP Smriti Irani, was arrested by the police following an encounter here.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Wasim, was held in Shalhapur area on Friday night following an encounter where he sustained a bullet injury and was admitted to a hospital.

With this, all the five accused in the case have been arrested.

Earlier on Monday, four accused - Ramchandra, Dharmanath, Naseem and Golu - were arrested by the police in connection with the case.

A case has been registered against them. Singh, the former village head of Barauli, was shot dead at his residence in Amethi on May 25.

He was referred to a Lucknow hospital but succumbed to injuries during treatment.

A commuter on a long-distance train was given a &quot;sound&quot; punishment by a group of fellow passengers for snoring loudly and disturbing their sleep.

The bizarre incident took place last week in a 3rd AC coach of LTT-Darbhanga Pawan Express when passengers found the snoring of a fellow traveller so offending that they all decided not to let him sleep for certain hours so that they could catch up with their sleep.

As a punishment, the offending passenger, identified only as Ramchandra, was made to stay awake five to six hours by fellow travellers so that they could sleep. A heated argument over the issue also took place between the two sides.

Ganesh S Virha, Chief Ticket Inspector of the Jabalpur division of the West Central Railway, confirmed the incident.

Virha, who boarded the train in Jabalpur, said the snoring passenger, Ramchandra, did not feel offended by the &quot;punishment&quot; given to him by his co-travellers.

Hence, he did not file any complaint with the Government Railway Police (GRP), he said.

Giving details of the incident, Virha told PTI over the phone, &quot;I got to know about the commotion when I took charge of the coach at Jabalpur at around 5 am (on Thursday last).

&quot;The train was a bit late and when I entered the coach, passengers briefed me about the heated argument that took place during the night journey. Ramchandra said he was persuaded by fellow passengers not to sleep for some time.&quot;

Ramchandra initially resisted the idea but later agreed to their proposal, he said.

&quot;I sought to know whether the passenger (Ramchandra) wanted to lodge a complaint with the GRP if he felt victimised or offended, but he replied in the negative.&quot;

&quot;In such cases, we take the help of the RPF or the GRP, but thankfully here the matter as sorted out amicably. When I revisited the coach later I found all passengers (involved in the matter) had become friends,&quot; Virha said.
