Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment, Ramdas Athawale, expressed his opinion on the upcoming release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali&#39;s magnum opus, &#39;<a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/entertainment-padmavat-wont-release-in-gujarat-madhya-pradesh-29351">Padmavat</a>&#39;.

The minister noted that the movie should not be allowed a released and demanded scenes &quot;offensive&quot; to the Rajput community to be deleted from the film.&nbsp;

Athawale also expressed his willingness to meet the Censor Board chief, Prasoon Joshi, for the same.&nbsp;

&quot;Changing the name of the controversial film, &#39;Padmavati&#39; (to &#39;Padmavat&#39;), is not enough. Till the objections of the Rajput community as regards the film are not cleared, it should not be released,&quot; Athawale noted.&nbsp;

Although the Deepika Padukone starrer recently received a clean chit from the censor board after making necessary amendments in its content, groups from the Rajput community continue to stage protests against its release.

The Karni Sena has been most vocal in protesting against the film.

The group recently protested outside the Censor Board office over the clearance given to the film.

&#39;Padmavat&#39; stars Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor in lead roles. It is slated for a release on January 25.&nbsp;
