Indian opposition launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government and his Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Monday (Jun 17) after a train accident in the eastern state of West Bengal.

As the lockdown was extended for the second time, a lot of people were worried about their railway bookings. While it has been made clear that refunds and re-schedulings will be processed by the officials, Railway Ministry, on Saturday, requested people to not book tickets till May 17.

The Indian railway ministry intends to replace the high-speed Shatabdi trains with super high-speed train which could run at 160-200 kmph. According to sources in the Indian railway ministry, the T-18 train has successfully completed its trials at 120 kmph in the stretch between Moradabad-Bareilly section.

This will be done in suburban as well as long-distance trains, they say, as part of the national transporter's plan to mark 2018 as the year for security of women
