Citing the Gaza Strip's&nbsp;civil defence agency, the news agency AFP reported&nbsp;two pre-dawn air strikes had killed 26 people, including 15 children, in&nbsp;Gaza City.</p>

<p>A civil defence agency spokesperson told AFP that one Israeli strike&nbsp;hit a family house, killing 16&nbsp;people,&nbsp;in the Al-Daraj area, and another killed&nbsp;10&nbsp;people inside a mosque compound.</p>

<p>Fierce fighting&nbsp;was also seen&nbsp;in&nbsp;Jabalia and&nbsp;Rafah&nbsp;where the armed wings of Hamas and its ally Islamic Jihad said they had fired mortar barrages at Israeli troops.</p>

<p>Israel hit back at the arrest warrants,&nbsp;voicing "disgust" over the ICC request and labelling any recognition of Palestinian statehood a "reward for terrorism".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Senior foreign ministry official Jacob Blitstein told the envoys of Ireland, Norway and Spain on Thursday that there will be "serious consequences" for their relations with Israel after they recognise the state of Palestine.&nbsp;</p>

Israel launches fresh strikes on Gaza while saying it's ready for new truce talks

<p>The UN World Food Program (WFP) said on Tuesday (May 21) the newly built $320 million pier project for delivering aid to Gaza may fail unless Israel starts ensuring the conditions the humanitarian groups need to operate safely.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The operation was paused for at least two days after crowds looted aid trucks arriving from the port, resulting in the death of one Palestinian man.</p>

<p>Deliveries were stopped on Sunday and Monday (May 19-20) after the majority of the trucks in an aid convoy were stripped of all their goods on the way to a warehouse in Gaza, the WFP said.</p>

<p>Only five of the 16 aid trucks that left the secured area on Saturday (May 18) arrived at the warehouse with their cargo intact, WFP spokesperson&nbsp;Steve Taravella told The Associated Press news agency.</p>

<p>“Without sufficient supplies entering Gaza, these issues will continue to surface,” Taravella said in an email.</p>

<p>“We have raised this issue with the relevant parties and reiterate our request for alternative roads to facilitate aid delivery. Unless we receive the necessary clearance and coordination to use additional routes, this operation may not be successful.”</p>

<p>The WFP also said on Tuesday (May 21) it has suspended food distribution in the southern Gaza city of Rafah due to a lack of supplies and insecurity.</p>
