The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill or CAB, which grants Indian citizenship to the non-Muslims of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Bangladesh, was passed by the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill will now go to the President for his assent. In the latest update coming in from Guwahati, one protestor has been killed and three others have been injured after the police opened fire. Reports indicated that the protestors hurled stones at a convoy of a foreign delegation.
