A woman in Pennsylvania received an electricity bill of a whopping&nbsp;US$284 billion, just days before Christmas and she&nbsp;remembers her eyes popping out.&nbsp;

Identified as&nbsp;Mary Horomanski, she brought the issue to notice by narrating the incident to a local newspaper.&nbsp;

Speaking to the newspaper, she said,&nbsp;&ldquo;We had put up Christmas lights and I wondered if we had put them up wrong.&quot;

Although the entire amount on the bill wasn&#39;t due until November 2018, that is almost one year from now but she would have had to pay a monthly minimum of&nbsp;$28,000.

She explained, &quot;It was like, well, I guess we have a year to come up with this billion-dollar bill.&quot;

&quot;My&nbsp;heart was beating fast and that I started to sweat&quot;, she added.&nbsp;

Much to her relief, the&nbsp;multi-billion-dollar bill turned out to be&nbsp;a mistake on part of the electricity supply company.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The company representatives checked her meter and admitted their mistake of missing a decimal point in the figure.&nbsp;The bill was supposed to cost $284.46.
