The MPs gathered at Makar Dwar at 10:30 AM for the twin protest, raising concerns over alleged police "brutality" against student protesters and the alleged "donation theft" at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.Dressed in saffron robes and carrying a photograph of Lord Ram, Pappu Yadav played the role of a temple priest collecting donations from devotees. Several Opposition MPs, including Rahul Gandhi, joined the skit and placed money into donation boxes kept at the protest site.&nbsp;The performance then took a dramatic turn. Without naming Yadav, Birla warned MPs against such actions, saying they bring down the prestige of Parliament. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government informed the Supreme Court on July 27 that it had formed a fresh Special Investigation Team to probe the alleged embezzlement of donations made at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, following the court's earlier directions.&nbsp;Inspector General of Police Kiran S heads the new SIT. The team also includes a Deputy Inspector General, a Superintendent of Police and an Additional Superintendent of Police, Solicitor General of India Tushar Mehta told the court.&nbsp;The Supreme Court took note of the state's submission and directed the SIT to submit a status report within two weeks.

Police in the Indian state of Bihar on Saturday (Nov 2) said that they have arrested a person from New Delhi who posed as jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's aide to allegedly threaten Independent Member of Parliament (MP) Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav, news agency PTI reported.&nbsp;

A case was lodged in Bihar's Purnia, the MP's constituency, based on the reports shared on social media.&nbsp;

Yadav reportedly received the call from a "Dubai number" and also sent letters to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, asking for enhanced security cover.

The man was identified as Delhi resident Mahesh Pandey.&nbsp;

However, the police made it clear that it has so far found “no links” between the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and Pandey.&nbsp;

During the interrogation, Pandey confessed that he called the MP through WhatsApp, using a SIM card he had borrowed from his wife's sister who lives in the UAE.&nbsp;

Police then seized Pandey's mobile phone and SIM card, which was used to make the alleged threat call.&nbsp;

The accused reportedly made the call to the MP after the Yadav's recent outburst against Bishnoi after the assassination of former Maharashtra minister and NCP leader Baba Siddique.

The officials said the accused found the MP's number on Google.&nbsp;

Soon after Baba Siddique was killed by shooters from Bishnoi's gang, earlier this year, Yadav took to social media, saying that he could "finish off within 24 hours" the Bishnoi gang, suspected to be behind the killing "if permitted by law" to do so.

He also expressed solidarity with Bollywood actor Salman Khan, who is also reportedly on the Bishnoi gang’s hitlist for allegedly killing a blackbuck.&nbsp;

However, after this episode, Yadav's wife and Rajya Sabha Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan distanced herself and her family from his comments.&nbsp;

“Pappu ji and I have different political careers and we have differences between us. For the last one-and-a-half or two years, we have also staying separately. Whatever statement he has made, my children or I have nothing to do with it,” she said.

Jan Adhikar Party (JAP) chief Pappu Yadav on Wednesday (Mar 20) joined Indian National Congress (INC) in the run-up to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. He said that he was always with the "identity and ideology" of the party.&nbsp;

"The trust shown by Rahul Gandhi and the blessings by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are enough for me, I don't want anything else," Yadav said. He completed the joining the formalities in New Delhi in the presence of spokesperson Pawan Khera and other senior Congress leaders.&nbsp;

Yadav looked confident about the Lok Sabha election result as he said that the alliance will win the Lok Sabha election and the 2025 assembly elections.&nbsp;

"I thank my national president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. I will struggle to strengthen the Congress and work with all my might in this regard," Yadav added.&nbsp;

In another major development, Lok Sabha MP Danish Ali, who was suspended from the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), also joined the Congress on Wednesday.&nbsp;

Ali represents the Amroha constituency in the state of Uttar Pradesh. He recently met former Congress president Sonia Gandhi at her 10 Janpath residence in the national capital and sought her "blessings".&nbsp;

"Today was a time to take a decision. On one hand there are the divisive forces in the country and on the other there are people who are struggling to give justice to the poor, deprived, and downtrodden. The choice is very clear," Ali said in his news briefing after joining the Congress.&nbsp;
