Rohaan and his parents were granted a medical visa to India through the intervention of external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj on humanitarian grounds.

A group of doctors operated on Rohaan for five hours at Noida's Jaypee hospital on June 14.

He was "perfectly normal" when he reached Lahore in July, a media report said citing the doctors who operated on him.

His reports were good till Friday, doctors said.

They said that on Sunday, they received a call from Rohaan's parents that they were admitting him to a hospital because he had developed diarrhoea. He died soon after.

The baby was suffering from a complex condition that caused his heart to pump deoxygenated blood.
