At least six serving judges from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) collectively wrote to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC), urging for a judicial conference to address concerns regarding the “interference of intelligence agencies with judicial functions”. This comes after Sharif on Wednesday had said that he has been informed that "someone else" was running the Parliament, instead of its members.

"People tell me that someone else is running the Parliament. Other people come and give directions about the day`s agenda and voting on bills etc," he said while virtually addressing a meeting of its party from the United Kingdom.

Pakistan has fast-tracked the process to bring back PML-N leader from London, where he had been staying since November 2019 on medical grounds. Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday tasked relevant authorities with bringing back Sharif at the earliest.

The decision was taken during a cabinet meeting where the PM also issued the directive to pursue the matter vigorously.A cabinet member told Dawn the government had already sent a request to the British government for the PML-N leader`s repatriation but it would now send a fresh application.

He said besides a normal application, a formal request for his extradition would also be made. "Although we have no extradition treaty with the UK, wanted people can be repatriated under special arrangements as we had also handed over some people to the UK," the cabinet member said.

"This case was taken up only due to personal vendetta by some people against me," Musharraf said in the video statement.

He was later permitted to move to Dubai to seek medical assistance in 2016, where he remains till date to seek treatment for amyloidosis and has refused to appear before the court, despite multiple orders.

His political party had earlier said it would challenge the verdict.&nbsp;

Sharif filed an appeal on March 6 against a judgment by the Islamabad High Court (IHC) which on February 25 rejected his bail application on medical grounds in the Al-Azizia steel mills case.

Several senior leaders of PML-N were also expected to be in the court on the occasion.

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Asif Saeed Khosa and comprising Justice Sajjad Ali Shah and Justice Yahya Afridi will take up the petition.

The former premier had twice submitted requests to the apex court for an early hearing of his application.

In January, he filed an application in the IHC for bail on medical reasons as he developed heart-related medical complications in jail but it was dismissed.&nbsp;

Three corruption cases - Avenfield properties, Flagship investment and Al-Azizia steel mills - were registered against the Sharif family by the anti-graft body in 2017 following a judgment by the Supreme Court that disqualified Sharif in the Panama Papers case in 2017.

He was sentenced to 10 years in prison in the Avenfiled corruption case in July 2018 which was related to his properties in London. Later he was given bail in September.

In December, the accountability court convicted him in the Al-Azizia graft case but acquitted him in the Flagship corruption case.&nbsp;

Opposition leader Imran Khan was granted permission today by a Pakistan high court to hold November 2 protests against the Nawaz Sharif government, international news agency Reuters reported today.&nbsp;The court, however, warned that demonstrations should not disrupt life for citizens, according to media reports.&nbsp;

Khan has vowed to bring millions of people out onto the streets&nbsp;to agitate against prevailing corruption&nbsp;and Panama Papers&#39; revelations about his family&#39;s offshore wealth.&nbsp;

According to Reuters, the Islamabad high court dismissed government challenges to the protests.&nbsp;However, it ordered Khan to hold the agitation on a parade ground far from the city&#39;s main government and commercial districts, Geo Television reported.

The government has also been ordered by justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui to ensure protection for the fundamental rights of residents of the capital to go about their daily lives, Geo reported.
