<p>Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday disapproved the political instability experienced in Nagaland during last four years and said that the BJP-NDPP government will ensure the development of the state.</p>

<p>Addressing an election rally here, he also hoped that in &quot;few months&quot; an agreement and solution to the Naga political issue will be arrived at which will &quot;respectable and acceptable&quot; to the people of Nagaland.</p>

<p>&quot;Connectivity is a huge challenge in Nagaland. We are working relentlessly towards eliminating it. In less than 4 years, we have added 500 km of National Highways. We have also planned to invest more than Rs 10,000 crore in the roads of Nagaland,&quot; he added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the run-up to polls, Core Committee of Nagaland Tribal Hohos and Civil Organisations (CCNTHCO) which was leading the movement for the solution to Naga problem before election asked political parties to refrain from the election.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In 2015 government of India and NSCN-IM inked a framework agreement.</p>

<p>It added that &quot;Nagaland has at least nine extremist groups that impose an array of &lsquo;donations&rsquo; &ndash; income, shop, commercial and house tax &ndash; to generate revenue for their &#39;governments&#39;. The rebels say it is their right to collect such taxes but do not specify if they spend the taxpayers&rsquo; money for civic projects.&quot;</p>

<p>The Hindustan Times reported locals as saying a GST-like, one &quot;rebel government&quot; tax would &quot;kill two birds with one stone &ndash; ease the fiscal burden on the common man who ends up paying half his earnings as taxes to non-legitimate governments and unify all rebel outfits for the &#39;Naga political cause&#39; of uniting all Naga-inhabited areas under one administrative umbrella.&quot;</p>
