A group of 24 volunteers claimed that they found the body of 15-year-old Nora Anne Quoirin, giving details in a statement on Wednesday. Volunteer hiker, Sherley Yup, said their group was assisted by a local Indian man who lives in the area. On Tuesday they had searched the area close to the Dusun resort where Quoirin went missing; separating into two groups when walking down the stream.

Police hope the voice recording of Quoirin's parents and her siblings will help locate the teenager in the dense forest reserve near the hotel where she was reported missing on Sunday. Police also said they have expanded the search area. More than 200 people are sweeping the area, assisted by canine units, police said, with a checkpoint also set up on the road to the resort.
