Bringing a different story in ‘Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai’, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap reveals how much he has changed since his last project. As the film releases today on June 5, Anurag Kashyap said that demonetisation plays an integral part in the film, in fact that is what makes the story flow in a seamless manner.&nbsp;

Speaking to IANS, Anurag Kashyap said, "Working on the film was a good process. It was a long wait. It started in 2015 with a script. At that time, there was no demonetisation. When demonetisation came, it had to be included in the script and we had to rewrite the script. Nihit Bhave kept on. Saiyami Kher came on board in 2017 and Roshan Mathew came on board 2018. "The film was always about money and marriage but demonetisation had to become a part of it because when we were shooting the film, it happened. And it was interesting to place the film in that period so that it doesn`t remain totally absurd and has much more meaning to it. The film suddenly came together because of demonetisation. It was always a great idea and a good script, but I felt that there was this X-Factor missing, so when demonetisation came in, it started to make sense,” he added.&nbsp;

‘Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai’ is the story of a middle-income household in which the housewife starts finding cash flowing out of her kitchen sink with which she starts to fulfill all her dreams.&nbsp;

It’s a suspense drama that the filmmaker wanted to make look different. He said, "I wanted to stick to the script of Nihit and I wanted to do right to the author. He was an incredible collaborator. There were times when I was tempted to take the script in a certain direction. When I would try to do that, I would have someone from the team to correct me. Rahul, my second unit director, was my biggest conscious keeper. They would all say `it is becoming an Anurag Kashyap film`."

"My filmmaking process is also changing, because the last three films I did, the idea originated from somebody else and not me, and that really is a big help sometimes," he added.&nbsp;

Indian director-producer Anurag Kashyap is on a roll. His film ‘Ghoomketu’ released today on Zee5 and now his other film’s trailer ‘Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai’ was released by Netflix.

While Anurag makes a rare appearance in ‘Ghoomketu’, in ‘Choked: Paisa Bolta Hai’, he will be seen doing what he does best -- direction.

The film follows a hapless, strong-headed middle-class bank cashier Sarita who comes into a recurring source of virtually unlimited cash. Her life changes as she begins to spend on everything she desires, only for an unprecedented announcement to stop her in her tracks: the 2016 demonetisation. Right after that move, Sarita is dragged into a criminal world completely unknown to her.

Choked cast includes Saiyami Kher, Roshan Mathew, Amruta Subhash, Upendra Limaye, Tushar Dalvi, Rajshri Deshpande, Vaishnavi Rp, Uday Nene, Parthveer Shukla, Sanjay Bhatia, Aditya Kumar, and Milind Pathak.

Anurag Kashyap directed the film off a script by Nihit Bhave. He has also co-produced the film alongside Dhruv Jagasia.&nbsp;
