The accused was identified as Pankaj Kumar alias Aditya. Kumar is an engineer from the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jamshedpur. Officials said that Kumar was arrested from Patna. The second person that the CBI arrested was Raju Singh, who allegedly helped Kumar steal the paper and pass it on to other gang members. Total 14 arrests in NEET-UG case With these arrests, the total number of accused arrested in cases related to the medical entrance exam scam has reached 14. The CBI has been investigating the alleged irregularities in the medical entrance exam and has registered FIRs. The CBI's own FIR on a reference from the Union education ministry pertains to a "comprehensive investigation" into the alleged irregularities in the examination. Court grants CBI custody of 13 suspects Last week, the Patna High Court granted the CBI custody of 13 people arrested by the Bihar Police in connection with the case. The agency sought the custody of these suspects, who were subsequently sent to judicial custody following a brief period of police remand. (With inputs from agencies)
