Air India Express launched services after the inauguration of commercial operations from the new Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). In addition, IndiGo flight 6E460 from Bengaluru arrived at the newly opened airport.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the airport in 2018. The airport was inaugurated by the Prime Minister on October 8 this year.
