The move comes amid continued ceasefire violations along the line of control(LoC) in J&amp;K. India and Pakistan troops have been repeatedly firing at each others position in Poonch, Nowshera and Keri.

&quot;The rail link facilitates people-to-people contact that Pakistan believes is essential for improving relations between the two countries,&quot; the foreign office added.

The agreement was set to expire in March 2018, but has now been extended to January 31, 2021.

The Munabao-Khokhrapar link was destroyed during the 1965 war, the service was revived after 41 years in February 2006.
