The home to our solar system and many more celestial objects is now flinging stars away from itself. Researchers recently found that the Milky Way galaxy is pushing stars farther away from itself.

The Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society recently released simulations depicting how this was happening. Explosions from dying stars are sending stars across the galaxy.

Flung from the centre of the Milky Way, such events demonstrate how the galaxy is continuously evolving and expanding.

"The FIRE-2 simulations allow us to generate movies that make it seem as though you're observing a real galaxy," said Sijie Yu, lead author of the study in a press release.

"They show us that as the galaxy centre is rotating, a bubble driven by supernova feedback is developing with stars forming at its edge. It looks as though the stars are being kicked out from the centre”, Yu added.

The stars are being flung towards the outer halo of the Milky Way. However, studies show that besides switching locations, stars are also restructuring and reforming during the process, as they leave the innards of the Galaxy.

"In plots that compare data from the European Space Agency’s Gaia mission,&nbsp;which provides a 3D velocity chart of stars in the Milky Way,&nbsp;with other maps that show stellar density and metallicity, we can see structures similar to those produced by outflow stars in our simulations”, Yu further said.

The Milky Way galaxy&nbsp;contains between 100 and 400 billion stars and at least 100 billion planets.

The first-ever photograph of a black hole will be released at 1300 GMT (1830 IST) on Wednesday in Shanghai, according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

The black hole data of the photograph were captured by the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT), an international cooperation programme jointly established by more than 200 researchers around the world.

The programme had its first full run in April 2017, collecting data of black holes with eight telescopes around the globe, including one in the South Pole.

According to scientists, the EHT has collected image data of two super-massive black holes with the largest apparent event horizons: Sagittarius A at the centre of the Milky Way and M87 in the centre of the Virgo A galaxy.

The photo will be released at 1300 GMT on Wednesday at press conferences simultaneously taking place in Shanghai, Taipei, Tokyo, Washington, Brussels and Santiago. The achievement will be co-announced by EHT and CAS at the event in Shanghai.

Despite the American West&#39;s vast open spaces, almost half of US&nbsp;territory has light-polluted nights. The East Coast is particularly hit hard, with only part of Maine and the islands at the end of the Florida Keys having pristine sky quality, US&nbsp;National Park Service researcher Dan Duriscoe said.

The most light-polluted country is Singapore. The hardest-hit G20 countries are Italy and South Korea.

Only small areas in western Europe remain relatively unaffected, mostly in Scotland, Sweden and Norway. Australia and Africa are least-affected among the populated continents.
