<p>"Upon arrival at the station, the CBP contracted-medical provider and a U.S. Border Patrol emergency medical technician began resuscitation efforts on the infant who was not breathing while awaiting the arrival of local emergency medical services. Upon arrival, local EMS personnel transported the infant to a nearby hospital where she was declared deceased," it added.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>El Paso reaches 'breaking point'</strong></h2>

<p>Mayor Oscar Leeser said El Paso is at "a breaking point" as it struggles to cope with the daily arrival of more than 2,000 asylum seekers. He said that this large number of asylum seekers exceeds the city's shelter capacity and is stretching its resources to the limit.</p>

<p>There have been 6 deaths in the last 24 hours due to the virus with the death toll rising to 77 in the state, health authorities said on Monday.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Alok Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police (eastern range) said: "All liquor shops in the eastern range that were opened today have been closed as social distancing norms were flouted in those shops."</p>

<p>Long queues were seen in several areas including in Andhra Pradesh's Nuzividu road of Hanuman junction town of Krishna district with authorities keeping a keen eye on social distancing guidelines. In Maharashtra too which has seen the highest number of cases and casualties witnessed people queuing out of liquor shops in large numbers.</p>

<p>As migrants continued to return home, chief minister Nitish Kumar said: "I want to thank Centre for considering the suggestion to run special trains to send the people of Bihar who are stranded in other states back home."</p>

<p>"Nobody will have to pay for the tickets. A quarantine center has been set up for them," the Bihar chief minister said.</p>

<p>"All of them will be staying at the quarantine center for 21 days. After which they will be given a minimum amount of Rs 1,000 each by the Bihar government. Under this scheme, Rs 1,000 has been already given to 19 lakh people in the state," CM Nitish Kumar added.</p>

<p>But the AfD has seen its support plunge in polls since the sharp slowdown in the flow of migrants after the deal between the EU and Ankara was reached a year ago.</p>

<p>Around 47,300 people arrived in Germany between January and March, mostly from Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, while 60,000 applied for asylum in that period, down two-thirds from the same period a year ago, the interior ministry said.</p>

<p>The German office for migration and refugees ruled on 222,395 asylum applications from January to March. About half the individuals were allowed to stay in Germany for the time being, but only a fifth were granted full refugee status.</p>

<p>Migrants who arrive in Germany are first registered at reception centres where they have to wait for months before they can file an asylum application, creating a huge backlog.</p>

<p>At the end of March, there were still around 278,000 outstanding applications to process, the ministry said.</p>

<p>A failed asylum-seeker from Tunisia killed 12 people in December by ramming a truck into a Berlin Christmas market, fuelling accusations by Merkel&#39;s opponents that mass immigration is making Germany more vulnerable to Islamist attacks.</p>
