Informing the Parliament on the measures taken by the government to check terrorism, Ahir said: "In order to avert terror incidents in the country, there exists close and effective coordination between intelligence and security agencies at the centre and the state level. The multi-agency centre (MAC) has been strengthened and re-organized to enable it to function on 24x7 basis for real-time collation and sharing of intelligence with other intelligence agencies and state governments"&nbsp;

He added, "states have also raised special forces to deal with terror incidents and central armed police forces and national security guards have also been stationed at different locations to assist the states in dealing with such incidents."&nbsp;

The number of left-wing extremist terror attacks in the last five years were 4,969 and saw a gradual decline from 1,091 in 2014 to 833 in 2018. The number of civilian deaths also declined due to left-wing extremism from 222 in 2014 to 173 in 2018 while left-wing extremist killed by security forces increased from 63 in 2014 to 225 in 2018.&nbsp;

North-east also saw a decrease in insurgency-related attacks from 824 in 2014 to 252 in 2018. The number of civilian death decreased from 212 in 2014 to 23 in 2018. Security forces who died fighting was 109 while 508 extremists were killed in the last five years.&nbsp;

<a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/all-ration-cards-digitised-80-linked-with-aadhaar-pm-modi-190441">Aadhaar cards</a> are now valid travel documents for Indians under 15 and over 65 travelling to Nepal and Bhutan, according to a Home Ministry communique.

Indians other than those in the two age brackets will not be able to use Aadhaar to travel to the two neighbouring countries, for which no visas are needed, clarified the communique issued recently.

Indian citizens going to Nepal and Bhutan don't need a visa if they have a valid passport, a photo identity card issued by the government of India or an election ID card issued by the Election Commission, it added.&nbsp;

Earlier, persons over 65 and under 15 could show their PAN card, driving licence, Central Government Health Service (CGHS) card or ration card, but not the Aadhaar, to prove their identity and visit the two countries.

The Aadhaar card has now been added to the list, explained a senior Home Ministry official.

"Now, persons in the age group of over 65 years and below 15 years have been allowed to use Aadhaar as a valid travel document," the official told PTI.

Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). It is being made mandatory for using a host of government services.

Giving details, the official said a certificate of registration issued by the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, to Indian nationals is not an acceptable travel document for travelling between India and Nepal.

"However, the emergency certificate and identity certificate issued by the Indian Embassy in Nepal will be valid for a single journey for travelling back to India," he said, citing the communique.

Teens between 15 to 18 years will be allowed to travel between India and Nepal on the basis of an identity certificate issued by the principal of their school in a prescribed form, the officer said.

In case of a family (like husband, wife, minor children and parents) travelling together, all persons will not be required to carry relevant documents (such as a passport or an election ID) if one of the adult members has valid travel papers, he said.

However, the other family members must have some proof of their identity with a photograph and their relationship as a family, such as a CGHS card, ration card, a driving licence or an ID card issued by school/college, the official explained.

Indian nationals travelling to Bhutan need to have either an Indian passport with minimum validity of six months or a voter identity card issued by the Election Commission of India.

Bhutan, which shares borders with the Indian states of Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and West Bengal, has about 60,000 Indian nationals, employed mostly in the hydroelectric power and construction industry.

In addition, between 8,000 and 10,000 daily workers enter and exit Bhutan every day in border towns.

About six lakh Indians live in Nepal, according to data by the Ministry of External Affairs.

These include businesspersons and traders who have been living in Nepal for a long time, professionals (doctors, engineers, IT personnel) and labourers (including seasonal/migratory) in the construction sector, it said.

Nepal shares a border of over 1,850 km with five Indian states- Sikkim, West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra showed that in two RTI replies the UPA government in August 2013 had said that on an average its agencies intercepted 9000 telephone calls and 500 emails a month.&nbsp;

A report with the Ministry of Home Affairs has warned of a pro-ISIS women group, Daulat ul Islam, being active in Jammu and Kashmir. According to the report, a group of women associated with the terrorist outfit were found allegedly giving speeches supporting ISIS ideology in parts of Valley.

As per the report, which has been accessed by Zee News, the pro-ISIS women group – Daulat ul Islam – is first of its kind found to be active in Jammu and Kashmir.

The activities of Daulat ul Islam members in the Valley first came to light after one terrorist was killed in Anantnag in March. Members of the group allegedly visited his residence and gave proactive speeches in the favour of Jehad, said the report.

Following the report, officials of the Home Ministry are concerned about the growing influence of ISIS in Jammu and Kashmir. According to sources, recent encounters at Hakoora in Anantnag and Balhana in Srinagar suggested the growing appeal and support for ISIS ideology.

The three terrorists killed at Hakoora were claimed to be members of ISIS, and their real names were declared by the group as Abu Yahya Al Ishtashadi alias Eisa Fazli, Abu Baraa Al Kashmiri alias Syed Owais Shah and Abu Zar Al Hindi alias Sultan Al Hyedrabadi. Two of them were local terrorists known to be associated with Tehreek Ul Mujhadeen (TuM) a suspected ally group of ISIS.

The third terrorist, Abu Zar Al Hindi alias Sultan Al Hyderabadi, was identified as Mohmmad Taufeeq, a native of Telangana who was associated with both ISIS and AGuH at different point of time.

The report adds that a hashtag in support of Islamic State has been doing the rounds of social media in Jammu and Kashmir.&nbsp;

The report says the hashtag was used in 2014 when the IS was active in Iraq and Syria and that, as per analysis on Facebook, usage of the hashtag has seen a tenfold increase in 2017.&nbsp;
