During a moving speech at the Afro Women and Power event in Colombia, on Sunday (August 18), Meghan thanked everyone for the warm welcome she and Prince Harry received during their four-day trip to the South American country. “Because we are in your country, my husband and I can feel this embrace from Colombia — it’s incredible,” she said.

The event highlighted the achievements of Afro-Colombian women leaders and entrepreneurs in the Cali region. Meghan emphasised the importance of ensuring that women and girls are heard and respected in all aspects of life, a core mission of the Archewell Foundation, which she co-founded with Prince Harry in 2020.&nbsp;

"I find inspiration in the strong women around me, my mother being one of them," Meghan said. "So much of how I approach things is less about the fight, and more about how do we show up in a space and wash things over with love and kindness and generosity."&nbsp;

Meghan also spoke about using one's voice when it matters. "Those are the elements that inspire me — I know how it feels when you don’t utilize your voice when you need to be heard or have something to say. I encourage our daughter to do so — who at 3 has absolutely found her voice, and we are so proud of that,” she added.

During the event, Meghan and Harry were treated to performances by Afro-Colombian musicians Nidia Góngora and Cynthia Montaño, with Meghan even joining Vice President Márquez for some dancing.&nbsp;

As their tour concluded, Meghan and Harry received a bottle of "viche," a traditional Colombian liquor, as a parting gift.
