&quot;Whether or not we win this, I know it has raised awareness... If I don&#39;t win this, maybe the next one will, maybe one after that,&quot; ANI reported her as saying.&nbsp;

&quot;I feel it might have been easier if they didn&#39;t have connections, but it&#39;s not over till it&#39;s over,&quot; she said.&nbsp;

&quot;I haven&#39;t seen any failure on the part of police so far, they have been extremely helpful,&quot; she added.&nbsp;

The young woman -- Varnika Kundu, she is a DJ, her father is an IAS officer -- was stalked (she was in her car) through the streets of Chandigarh by two men in an SUV.&nbsp;

One of the men was allegedly Vikas Barala, the son of Haryana&#39;s BJP chief Subhash Barala.&nbsp;

Varnika got home and recounted her ordeal on Facebook, where she wrote: &ldquo;Was almost kidnapped on a Chandigarh road last night. There were 2 guys inside the SUV, and they seemed to really be enjoying harassing a lone girl in the middle of the night. If this is what women deal with in one of the safer cities in the country, where are we going? I find it shocking, that in a place with cameras at every light and cops every 200 m, these boys thought they could either get into my car, or take me into theirs, just because they&rsquo;re from an influential background&hellip; I&rsquo;m also lucky, because I&rsquo;m not lying raped and murdered in a ditch somewhere.&rdquo;&nbsp;

Earlier on Saturday, ANI reported Varnika&#39;s father VS Kundu as saying: &quot;Meri ladaai kisi rajneta ke saath nahi hai, meri ladaai do apraadhi yuvakon ke saath hai jinhone meri beti ko preshaan kiya.&quot;(My fight is not against any politician, my fight is against the two men who were troubling my daughter)&nbsp;

&quot;Law students hain (Vikas and his accomplice are reportedly studying law), unko sab kucch pta hai kya kar rhe hain. Unko saza dilwaana meri responsibility hai,&quot; he added.(They know everything that they have done, it is my responsibility to get justice) &nbsp;

Vikas&#39;s father Subhash has so far not commented on the case but Chandigarh BJP vice president Ramveer Bhatti did.&nbsp;

He sparked a furore on Monday after he blamed Varnika for &ldquo;staying out so late in the night&rdquo;.&nbsp;

&ldquo;Such cases tend to occur and the probability is higher for girls being stalked if they are out at odd hours,&rdquo; he said.&nbsp;

BJP MP Kirron Kher meanwhile said on Monday that the Chandigarh police were not being put under any political pressure, and assured Varnika and her family that they would be given justice.&nbsp;
