Bengaluru city will be hit by a bandh&nbsp;tomorrow over the ongoing Mahadayi water dispute.

The bandh has been called by pro-Kannada groups and Karnataka farmers and is likely to disrupt daily life.

Private schools and government offices are expected to remain shut.

Many IT companies in Bengaluru have also asked their employees to either work from home or take a day off.

Transport services will remain unaffected, buses and cabs will function as per their routine.

Karnataka State Government Employees Association has also supported the bandh. which will be observed to urge the central government to resolve the Mahadayi river dispute at the earliest.

Another bandh has been called for on February 4 where the protesters will seek to reach out to PM Modi who will be attending the Parivarthan&nbsp;rally in the state on the same day.

Karnataka and Goa are in a state of dispute on the issue of sharing the inter-state Mahadayi river water.&nbsp;

While the river originates from Karnataka a major part of it flows to Goa.

A similar protest was observed on December 27 where protestors raised anti-government slogans and burned effigies.

The protest is being led by the Mahadayi Kalasa Banduri Nala Horata Samanvaya Samiti.

Earlier, a petition filed by the Karnataka government was rejected by the Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal on grounds that the project may cause ecological damage.
