German aviation giant Lufthansa is facing a major crisis. Up to 90 per cent of its flights are likely to be cancelled today. The reason: a walkout by the carrier's ground staff.

Lufthansa's ground staff to strike

Ver.di, the union representing Lufthansa's ground staff, has gone on a one-day strike on Wednesday (Feb 6), in a bid for higher wages. The strike which started at 4 am, is expected to last 27 hours, and will affect airports in Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg, Berlin, and Düsseldorf.
