A teenager has been arrested after&nbsp;five acid attacks were reported in north-east London, media reports said.

The attacks happened in a space of 90 minutes at&nbsp;Hackney, Stoke Newington and Islington on Thursday night, reports said.

Police said they had arrested a male teenage on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and robbery. He is in custody in an east London police station, news agencies reported.&nbsp;

British Police identified the London attacker as 52-year-old Khalid Masood, born in Kent in southeast England.

London&#39;s Metropolitan Police said in a statement that Masood was known by &quot;a number of aliases&quot; and had been living in the West Midlands, which includes the city of Birmingham where there was an armed police raid overnight.

The police had earlier identified the attacker as a British-born man once investigated for possible links to extremist violence, AFP reported.

Islamic State claimed the attack Thursday, AFP reported, citing the Amaq propaganda agency linked to the jihadist group.
