<p>The incident came to light when a&nbsp;computer crime unit at the prosecutor's office got a hint of it. The unit also issued arrest warrants for&nbsp;illegal access to a computer system, interception of IT communications and illegal use of personal data. Company's former employee and director were arrested.</p>

<p>In addition to those two, the head of the company's anti-hacking unit was also arrested on charges of obstructing an ongoing investigation and providing false information about the nature and effects of the hack.</p>

<p>As per the investigators, the company's IT system was under "Advanced persistent threat" between the period of May 2015 and January 2017. The company's officials observed abnormal data traffic from work stations in 2017 which was being generated through a malware under the pretence of "cftmon.exe". This was when the company was able to identify the hack.</p>

<p>While it is not yet clear which systems were hacked, it has been reported that a total of 94 computers were compromised, 48 of which belonged to aerospace sector and some sectors were being used to create strategic products.</p>

<p>No less than 10 gigabytes of data, equivalent to around 100,000 files, were lifted from the plant in Pomigliano d'Arco, including information on components of civilian and military aircraft.</p>

<p>An environmental initiative called Earth Alliance backed by Hollywood star Leonardo DiCaprio has committed $5 million toward the preservation of the Amazon rainforest as fire engulfed large parts of the forest causing a public hue and cry.</p>

<p>The entire social media has been abuzz with news of the fires, with people asking for concerned authorities to look into the grave situation.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earth Alliance made the commitment towards an emergency Amazon Forest Fund that is working to support local partners and indigenous communities in their efforts to protect the sensitive habitats within the Amazon. The funds will be donated to five local organizations: Instituto Associacao Floresta Protegida (Kayapo), Coordination of the Indigenous Organizations of the Brazilian Amazon (COIAB), Instituto Kabu (Kayapo), Instituto Raoni (Kayapo) and Instituto Socioambiental (ISA).</p>

<p>According to the fund’s website, more than 72,000 fires have been reported by Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research (INPE) — an increase from last year’s 40,000 fires, which can be largely attributed to an unprecedented surge in deforestation by cattle operations and feed crops.</p>

<p>Leonardo had earlier taken to his social media to raise awareness for the situation and written, “The largest rainforest in the world is a critical piece of the global climate solution. Without the Amazon, we cannot keep the Earth’s warming in check.”</p>

The anniversary is being marked in many ways, and on Tuesday the Vatican Museums hosted a 'study day' to coincide with the conclusion of 18 months of restoration work on a tapestry inspired by Leonardo's 'Last Supper.'

<p>An Italian appeals court on Monday acquitted two former Leonardo executives over a bribery case related to a large 2010 helicopter contract to the Indian government.</p>

<p>Giuseppe Orsi, former chief executive of the state-controlled defence group, formerly known as Finmeccanica, and Bruno Spagnolini, once at the head of helicopter unit AgustaWestland, were cleared of charges as &quot;there isn&#39;t sufficient proof&quot;, according to the sentence read out in court.</p>

<p>In December 2016, Italy&#39;s highest court had ordered a re-trial of the case, after the former executives of the Rome-based group were found guilty on corruption charges related to a 560 million euros ($672 million) contract to supply a dozen helicopters to New Delhi.</p>

<p>A judge earlier that year had sentenced Orsi to four and a half years in prison for corruption and falsifying invoices and Spagnolini to four years in jail.</p>
