<p>Two terrorists were killed in a joint operation by the Indian&nbsp;Army and police in the Union Territory of&nbsp;Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district on Saturday (Sep 28), officials said.</p>

<p>Three Army personnel and two police officers sustained injuries&nbsp;in the gunbattle, which erupted after the security forces targeted a terrorist hideout.</p>

<p>A large cache of arms, including sophisticated rifles, was also recovered after the encounter, South Kashmir DIG Javed Ahmad Matoo said.</p>

<p>All of the injured security personnel were&nbsp;immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment, where their condition was said&nbsp;to be stable.</p>

<p>In a post on X, the Kashmir Zone Police said that the encounter broke out at the&nbsp;Adigam Devsar area of Kulgam.</p>

<p>"Encounter&nbsp;started at Adigam Devsar area of Kulgam.&nbsp;Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow," the Kashmir Zone Police said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the last few months, there has been a spike in terror attacks in the Kashmir&nbsp;Valley.</p>

<p>This encounter in Kulgam came nearly a week after a gunfight broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Chatroo area of J-K's Kishtwar, a report by the news agency ANI said.</p>

<p>On September 15, an encounter was reported in the Kalaban area. A joint search operation was launched by security forces and the area was cordoned off, ANI reported.</p>
