<p>The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority&#39;s&nbsp;move came after a&nbsp;&nbsp;<a href="http://www.wionews.com/india-news/seven-year-old-girl-dies-due-to-dengue-gurugram-fortis-hospital-claims-rs-16-lakhs-24707" target="_blank">seven-year-old girl died in Gurugram&#39;s Fortis Memorial Research Institute </a>after undergoing treatment for dengue for 15 days.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The deceased&#39;s parents said that they&nbsp;were not allowed to take the body of their daughter until they paid the outstanding bill of Rs 16 lakh, reports said.</p>

<p>The parents of the girl claimed that the hospital staff kept their daughter on the ventilator for three days even after she had stopped responding to the treatment.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The child died on 14 September 2017.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The hospital, on the other hand, said that there was nothing wrong on their part and that they followed all &quot;standard medical protocols and clinical guidelines&quot;.</p>

<p>The hospital added&nbsp;that there was a progressive fall in her platelet count and hemoconcentration.&nbsp;With consistent deteriorating of her health, the girl was put on on ventilator support within 48 hours.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier the Union Health Minister JP Nadda had assured to take an action against the people involved in the matter.&nbsp;</p>
