<p>American singer-songwriter Joe Jonas has revealed that he lost the role of Spider-Man in Sony Pictures' Marc Webb-directed 2012 film 'The Amazing Spider-Man'. The role eventually went to Andrew Garfield who returned as the wall-crawler in the 2014 sequel 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2' as well. While speaking to Variety, Jonas, a part of pop rock band Jonas Brothers, was asked whether he can remember a role that "destroyed" him, he spilled the beans.</p>

<p>"I can name probably a couple. In the moment, you're destroyed or you're defeated. But you realize this person was brilliant. I remember years ago I was up for Spider-Man and I was so, so excited and it was the year Andrew Garfield got it," he said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He went on to admit that Garfield, who returned in the role in last year's multiversal adventure 'Spider-Man: No Way Home', was the better choice. "Obviously, he was the right one. But I remember that was a big thing at the time, going back for callbacks, and the director used to be a music video director. So I was like, 'I got an in here.' But you know what? I love the process of auditioning and putting yourself out there and having to prove yourself."</p>

<p>In the same interview, Jonas said that his wife Sophie Turner, the actress best known for playing Sansa Stark in 'Game of Thrones', helped him tape his audition for 'Devotion', in which he can currently be seen. He said she, a "phenomenal actress", is his toughest critic.</p>
